2. Story of *ship
Our story began when different organizations came together with
same agenda, to change the atmosphere towards
entrepreneurship in the region.
One of our mentor came up with an idea. Since we are located by
the sea, how about we get a ship and fill it with startups and
mentors. Then sail them away and not let them out before all ideas
have received an investment.
Student-run Patteri Entrepreneurship Society took the led of *ship
– The Startup Festival, which was organized for the first time 2015.

5. *ship is an experience like no other. The atmosphere is extremely open where
people support each other and succeed together. This is the atmosphere we
want to nurture, this is the experience we want to give.
We look for the next generation of entrepreneurs, who are passionate about
what they do, and we give them the support they deserve.

6. Join *ship 2017
• 3 days event organized between July 11th – 13th
• Finland is celebrating 100 birthday – We bring 100 teams from
all over the world to *ship
• Selected teams get to take part to our unique mentor program
• Selected teams get to compete for the 5000€ main prize
+ several other prizes
• Overall experience rated 4,4 / 5
• 99% of our visitors would recommend *ship to their friends

7. How to apply
• Information about application will be uploaded to
shipfestival.org website at November 30th
• Application opens at January 1st 2017
• Between January 1st - February 29th online competition takes
place where Top 3 applicants will be invited to ship free of
charge
