1. Thanks for requesting my “Technical Imaging for Art Documentation and Examination” training. One
year ago I started a blog “Cultural Heritage Science Open Source”. Its mission was to disseminate
low-cost instrumental solutions for art diagnostics for public and private professionals in the art
conservation field. This fully hands-on training will make you practice with the multispectral imaging
methods and equipment that I use for Documentation and Examination of art objects, such as de-
scribed in the “Cultural Heritage Science Open Source” blog.
Training
Sept 16-27 2013
Ecuador National Museum, Quito
Timeline.
I’ll be in Quito on Sept 14th and I’ll leave on the 28th.
Testing
Sept 16,17,18. I’ll need 3 days to test the purchased equipment, verify that everything is in work-
ing order and install software and drivers on the imaging lab PC.
Training
From Sept 19th to 27th, 5 hours/day: 2h Theory and 3h Laboratory. 7 days.
Sept 19th. Imaging with Visible: Color Management workflow and accuracy, Raking light, Mac-
ro-photography, Nikon D800.
Sept 20th. Imaging with UV: UV Fluorescence, UV Reflected.
Sept 23nd. Imaging with IR: Digital Infrared, Infrared False color, Infrared Fluorescence, Infrared
Transmitted.
Sept 24th Imaging with IRR: Infrared Reflectography, InGaAs camera.
Sept 25th High-Resolution Imaging: Gigapan Panoramic Head, Panoramic IRR, PTGUI stitching
software.
Sept 26th RTI (Reflectance Transformation Imaging)
Sept 27th. 3D photo-modeling
