Week: 40 plus, Perform security guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations
to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage and to
enforce the security regulations of the installation. Control access of vehicles and
pedestrians to installation. Verify identification through use of identification cards,
badges, automated records, vehicle decals, verbal questioning, and other means. As
required by force protection level, conduct vehicle searches/inspections (to include
cargo areas, engine compartments and undercarriages. Inspect containers, personal
property, and documents on private, commercial and governmental vehicles. Confiscate
unauthorized or otherwise controlled items, and to detain those suspected of criminal
or other illegal activity. Question suspicious persons and warns or detains violators of
laws, regulations, policies, rules or posted warnings. Make instantaneous decisions
regarding use of deadly force, operates Active Vehicle Barrier when required, and alerts
appropriate officials of apparent security violations. Enforce traffic regulations, makes
routine traffic stops and issues citations to violators. Operate two-way communications
equipment to summon emergency vehicles and crews when needed. Implement
enhanced security in the event of bomb, fire, or other threats. Maintain duty journal and
prepares written reports of unusual situations.
Chemical Operations Specialist, June 2011 – June 2012, U.S. Army | Fort Bragg, North
Carolina, Active Duty, Hrs Per Week: 40 plus.
Operated, performed operator maintenance or supervised the use of nuclear, biological
and chemical detection and decontamination equipment, smoke generators, and
assisted in the establishment, administration, training and application of NBC defense
measures. Provided training, advice, and supervision regarding the proper use and
maintenance procedures for chemical equipment and chemical operations in company
and higher level organizations. Conducted NBC equipment inspection and inventory of
the NBC items issued through hand receipts to include technical inspection(TI) of all NBC
items turned in to the unit and the support activity. Provided the Commander input on
NBC supply procedures, property book accounting for chemical equipment. Prepared
inspection reports (checklist) and followed-up to insure corrections are made.
Performed or assisted in the performance of processing of the NBC administrative
support documents, issues and turn-in, hand receipts and other related reports,
providing general guidance to the support activity command on governing procedures
and policies for the checklist and performance of chemical equipment maintained within
the organization. Conducted semi-annual training. Task include doing the chemical
protective mask, ensuring guards meet the 14 critical NBC task as outlined in DOD policy,
MOPP level IV training and proper use of chemical over suit and decontamination kits.
Conducts technical inspection (TI) of all items serviceability, and inspects/evaluates
repaired NBC components to insure work accuracy and compliance with established
2. procedures, polices and directives. Processed all documentation action in accordance
with conditions of the items inspected. Estimates requirements for maintenance
supplies, establishes priorities and assigned work. Determines condition of equipment
for repairs needed and echelon of repair. Also, trained to standard wearing level A (fully
encapsulated suit with air tank) and level B (same as level A but external air tank)
personel protective equipment while performing my duties.
Assisted, coordinated, and helped implement environmental programs, cleared buildings
of hazardous materials, performed closure activities of hazardous waste management
units and suspect locations which may require additional remediation. Also included is
responsibility for the proper handling, sampling, packaging, storage, transportation,
shipping and disposal of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes; maintained a
hazardous waste operating record for all waste that was generated in the maintenance
and storage of the chemical agent stockpile, site redemption, and facilities maintenance.
Evaluated and interpreted waste analysis and developed waste profiles for waste
streams generated. Reviewed regulations, permits, site plans, and guidelines to
determine compliance with all Federal, state, Army, and local regulations. Maintained
complete records of hazardous materials ordered, used, and issued to include a
complete file of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for each item used. Conducted
compliance inspections on all hazardous waste management unit locations, work
generation points, storage and satellite facilities. Also inspected hazardous material for
shelf life and compatibility in storage. Reviewed permits, waste analysis plan,
contingency plans, site monitoring plans, and other documents relating to
environmental issues affecting the organization.
