BSc Business Placements and Projects
2. As a graduate employer recruiting within
Cornwall, the opportunity to now engage and find
strong talent in the region through partnership
with the Business School at the Penryn Campus
really excites me. As our business continues to
grow, the knowledge that Cornwall will have an
even bigger talent pool of business graduates can
only be a positive for us, graduate recruiters and
the local community.

I am confident that BSc
Business is a future facing
degree. It provides the business
fundamentals but incorporates
exciting, distinctive content
students will need to help them demonstrate
confidence and creativity in the workplace.
Stephen Hickman – BSc Business Programme Director
BSc Business, based at our Penryn Campus in Cornwall, is a career-
focused business and management programme, with an ethos of
ethics and sustainability, incorporating extensive work placements.
What do students study?
The curriculum is made up of a compulsory core together
with specialist subjects, allowing students to choose modules
that most interest them. These include:
► Marketing in a Digital Age
► Accounting
► Operations Management
► Economics
► Project Management
► Social and Technological Innovation
What do I need to know?
If your organisation has a short-term project that needs kick-
starting, a Business student could be exactly what you need
to get that project going as well as giving that student valuable
experience to boost their employability. Placements can be
paid or unpaid.
How long and when?
Students will take a placement in both year 1 and 2 between
April and August and complete a consultancy project during
the autumn of their third year. Each placement carries 15
credits toward their degree for a minimum of 70 hours.
What support will students receive?
The University of Exeter Business School, Penryn, and an
Employability Adviser will provide a range of support to help
students develop attractive skills for employers. Direction
is provided through subject-based seminars, interactive
electronic resources and personal guidance.
How do I get involved?
Contact us on the email below. We can advertise your
placement opportunities to our students free of charge.
We simply ask for a job description, which we can provide
guidance on. You can provide an outline of your placement/
project supported by your contact details for potential
applications to be sent direct to your organisation.
