3. WHAT IS ARNIS
REDONDA?
Redonda is a continuous
circular downward-striking
double-stick twirling technique
that serves as both a good
defence and a good offence.

4. REDONDA
The name which means “round” is of
Spanish origin and implies a strike that
whips in a circle and returns to its point
of origin.

5. REDONDA
Redonda is a sequence of six circular
strikes, performed with both hands.
Drills like Redonda are a basic
component in many styles of Martial
Arts.

6. STEPS IN PERFORMING REDONDA

Perform open leg stance.
Both hands are holding sticks
Right arm stick is placed
closely at the right side of
the head while the stick is
pointing at the back.
Left arm stick is placed
under the right armpit with
the stick also pointing at the
back.

PREPARATION PERFORMING
1.Right hand cane swing forward diagonally
and place it above the left shoulder.
2.Left hand cane swing forward diagonally,
place it above the left shoulder.
3.Right hand cane swing forward, place it
to left armpit.
4.Left hand cane swing forward diagonally
and place it above the right shoulder.
5.Right hand cane swing forward
diagonally, place it above the right
shoulder.
6.Left hand cane swing forward, place it to
right armpit.
