2. Life 2.0
I am an avid learner and, as such, I don’t
hesitate to read a book or attend a seminar
that draws my attention. These things may at
times appear not to have any relevance to my
work, but I tend to trust my intuition when it
‘pulls me’ towards something.
Recently, that ‘something’ was the Life 2.0
Three Principles Conference that took place in
London.

3. Life 2.0
I had read about the conference in an article
and, without knowing anything about the key
theme, I booked a ticket and spent three days
meeting some amazing people, listening to
some incredible speakers and hearing about
the Three Principles that, up to that point, I
knew nothing about.

4. Three Principles
The three principles of Mind, Consciousness
and Thought were put forward by author and
philosopher Sydney Banks in the 1970s.
Sydney realised that everybody creates their
experience of life in the same way. Every
feeling we have comes from the thought we
experience at that very moment; when the
thought changes, the feelings change
accordingly.

5. Three Principles
Dr George Pransky further explained this at the
conference I attended:
“Human beings could be seen as
‘experience-creating machines’ that use the gift
of Thought to create mental images and the
gift of Consciousness to bring those images
into creating an experience of life in every
moment that fills our days.”

6. Three Principles
As I conversed with one of the delegates, I was
told that Thought is like the radar of a ship; it
guides you through life, and if you learn to use
it properly, you can navigate through life more
ably than you’d ever imagined.
And when illusionary sadness comes from
memories, trying to figure it out and getting
caught up in the details won’t serve you. So,
simply realise that it’s thought and, as you
realise this, the thought has gone and you’re
back to the now.

7. Three Principles
And what about the principle of Mind?
This doesn’t relate to the brain but is instead
the very source of the intelligence of all things,
the intelligence behind life that acts as a
catalyst to create our moment-to-moment living
through our thinking.

8. Greater Potential
The conference really opened up a new
perspective for me about life, how our mind
works and about our potential as human
beings to continuously enhance the meaning
and significance in us… in life. These are all
intrinsic elements in my coaching work.

9. Greater Potential
I’m still ‘processing’ what I heard and learnt at
the conference, and I’m greatly appreciative of
my intuition that prompted me to attend in the
first place.
Maybe that intuition of mine is linked to what
Sydney Banks referred to as the Mind: the
intelligence of all things that we’ve already got.
If so, how can we further tap into this greater
intelligence?
