Summary
I am a sound service and project manager whose experience began by establishing and registering a young
people’s housing co-operative and raising funding from the (then) Housing Corporation and banks, forming a
neighbourhood co-operative using local authority and central government funding to create job opportunities for
out of reach long-term unemployed people, then working as a housing management consultant for the Priority
Estate Project helping local authorities decentralise and improve housing services with the involvement of local
tenants and residents.
As Managing Director of Beechwood Ballantyne Community Housing Association (BBCHA) I managed a £10
million budget delivering property improvements, creating local jobs both internally and with contractors and
successfully introducing neighbourhood management.
As Business Development Manager at Liverpool Housing Trust I was responsible for leading all aspects of raising
tenders for new growth, including competing for management contracts, bidding for asset acquisition, preparing
and delivering written and verbal presentations to a wide variety of audiences and heading pre-contract
negotiations.
My experience includes identifying and researching opportunities, establishing business cases for high level
approval, developing project plans for tenders, maintaining a database of company experience (such as CV’s and
case studies), establishing cross functional bid teams, writing tender proposals and preparing for and leading
presentations at interviews.
