15. Survey4BIM
• Interoperability: “There’s only one F’in Format”
• Accuracy:
• LOD:
• Geometric level of detail and graphical representation is critical to the
underpinning of space allocation in BIM, both for proposed and existing
features, and for client decision making. For the purpose of this task we have
only looked at the geometric level of detail which will include the level of
graphical representation and partial reference to level of information. The
two key issues in our view are
• The variance if the definitions of LoD (e.g. Level of Detail or Level of Definition)
• The graphical representation of as-built data is not the same as design
16. UKBIM Alliance
The Alliance mission, goals and strategies are defined
in the UKBIM Alliance Strategic Plan.
The strategies and progress will be reviewed annually
by the Executive Team ensuring that strategies and
plans remain effective and focused on achieving the
defined goals.
‘Relevant Today and Futureproof for Tomorrow’
17. OGC Future Cities Phase 2
• Comparing data conversion with data linking approaches
• Looking at tools that consume both CityGML/geospatial data and BIM
• Data structures that support the seamless integration of geospatial
and BIM data
• Indoor space, indoor navigation and using both CityGML and IFC data
for navigation in IndoorGML
• linking (real-time) sensor information with 3D City Models in CityGML
• security models to protect the sensor readings, including Single-Sign
On (SSO) methodologies to protect parts of the city model
• understanding where and how we must capture location and time
information: the ability to correlate location in different coordinate
reference systems (CRS) such as local, regional, global and understand
if, and how, the integrity of the location data has changed through
that process (Survey4BIM use case)
• Data linking to facilitate asset management over dispersed
geographies

18. Industry Trends – what are the drivers?
• Software consolidation
• Commoditisation of hardware
• Reality Capture becoming an expected/standard data source
• GeoBIM
