Thegrant(s)providedbyStreets Aheadcouldcoverupto50%*ofthe upfrontinstallationcosts. Streets Aheadisstraightforwardandhopes tohelpyoumaketherightchoicefor youandyourhome,withourteam supportingyouthroughoutand providingadviceinanywaywecan. GreenDealFinanceisopento homeowners,aswellasprivately rentingtenantswiththepermissionof thelandlord(subjecttocreditcheck) andoffers alowinterest,unsecured loanwhichispaidbackthrough savingsyoumakeonyourenergybill. Solidwallpropertiescaneitherbe fittedwithinsulationexternally(tothe exterioroftheproperty)orinternally (fromwithintheproperty).Thetypeof solidwallinsulationinstalledisentirely uptoyou,althoughyoumaybe advisedbyaspecialistinstallerto chooseoneoveranother–orevena mixtureofthetwo. Thismaychangeduetootheraspectseg thesizeandshapeoftheproperty,weatherconditions,etc. ‡ Costsmayvarysubjecttothepropertytypeandsizeofthepropertyand donotincludeanyadditionalcostwhichmayberequired. External solid wall insulation (EWI) involves adding an external layer of insulating material to your home, before covering this with a render or cladding of your choice for both protection and appeal. This results in your property becoming more appealing potentially adding value to your home, while saving up you to £460* per year on heating bills, and significantly reducing your CO2 emissions. Externalsolidwallinsulationwillnotreduceyourhomes floorarea,norcauseinternaldisruption.Theinstallation processwillusuallyonlytakebetweenonetotwoweeks† so takethisgreatopportunitytobothfurtherimproveyour energyefficiencyandrejuvenateyourhomeallatonce. How will my property benefit? WhilsttherearemanybenefitsrelatedtoEWI,thetopfivefor youare: ●● Asignificantsavingonyourenergybills ●● Makingyourhousefeelwarmerinwinterandcooler insummer ●● Makingyourhomefarmoreenergyefficient ●● Improvingtheexternalaestheticsofyourhomeand protectingandweatherproofingyourwalls ●● Draughtandproofingandsound. Important considerations Whilstinstallerswillworktoensureminimumdisruptionto yourhomelife,theremaybesomeminordisruptionduring theinstallationprocess,eggardenaccessandspacefor materialstoragemayberequired,noisefrompowertools anddustmaycauseslightinconvenience. Internal solid wall insulation is particularly appropriate when maintaining the exterior appearance of your home is important. For example, there may be a need to maintain uniformity of properties or because your property has listed building status. How much will it cost? Internalsolidwallinsulationcostsonaverage£4,000– £16,500*,althoughcostsmayvarysignificantlybasedupon theamountofworkrequiredornumberofwallswhichare selectedforretrofitting. Important considerations Asthelayerofinsulationmaterialisfittedtothewalls internally,thesizeofroomswillbeslightlyreduced;however itdoesgiveyouagreatopportunitytoredecorateand renovateeachroom. Fittinginternalsolidwallinsulationisalargeundertaking andinvolvesworkwhichmaycausesomedisruption.Noise anddustaretobeexpectedandtheinstallerswillneedto removefixturessuchasradiators,walllightfittings,pipe work,andskirtingboards.However,installerswillleavethe propertyascleanandtidyaspossibleandallfixturesand fittingswillbereplacedoncetheinstallationiscompleted. Thiscan subsequentlybepaintedor wallpaperedjustlikeyourcurrent internalwall 3 Internal Wall Thisistheoldinternalplasterwhichis nowinsulatedbytheinsulationboard andcoveredwithplasterwork. 4 Insulation Thislayerreducestheamountofheat lostthroughtheexternalpartofyour walls. Itcaneitherbeinstalledas insulationboardsfitteddirectlytothe insidewall,orasinsulationboards attachedwithwoodenbattensfixed tothewall. The assessment is really important as without it you will not be able to access the £4,000 grant. Cost TheGreenDealAssessmentisavailableatadiscounted priceof£35,whichwouldusuallycostyouintheregionof £996*,andincludesafullassessmentofyourproperty. Time Normallytheassessmentiscompletedinlessthan 2hours. Visit TheGreenDealAssessorwillusuallyneedtobeprovided withinformationsuchasthenumberofoccupantslivingin yourproperty,yourheatingmethodanduse,andaccess toallareasincludingyourloft.Pleasenotephotographsof yourpropertywillbetaken. Boiler upgrades Reduceyourgasbillsandsaveupto£3008ayear. Heating controls Heatingcontrolsenableyoutoregulateyourheatingand hotwatermoreefficientlyresultinginlowerfuelbills.
