To Whom It May Concern
Mr. Andreas Iipumbu was working at NamEnergy (Pty) Ltd as a Junior Energy Researcher.
Objectively to grasp the main concepts of the energy industry, as he has keen interest in it. He was
placed in our renewable energy department and took on minor roles such as advising on our
current projects. One may ask where he would get this knowledge to be able to give advice, but
he analyse and research current international projects and informed us about the criteria that
formed a major part of the success of these projects and we would then implement them. He had
a big interest in some of the companies that provide solar energy for the masses such as Scatec
Solar Pty Ltd. It’s safe to say he has a keen interest and ambition in renewable energy which is
harvested by his determination and we strongly believe if he is given the knowledge he requires
he will be a positive key to the future of renewable energy in Namibia.
One great skill was his ability to use skills he has learned from his Bsc (hons) Quantity Surveying
and Commercial management in advising on cost implications of some of our concept projects.
These include reduction of cost where possible and putting provisions such as contingencies for
any unseen extra costs. In addition he was able to check over our feasibility studies. Commercially,
he was able to advice on factors that would yield more value for the projects, and in doing so he
helped us see places we could yield more profits from sale of energy etc.
He is an ambitious and extremely hard working man with a vision for renewable energy. He strongly
wishes to play a role in reducing carbon emissions and effects of global warming on our dear earth.
We do recommend and hope he will be placed on this course.
I can confirm that Andreas worked with us from May 2015 to the end of July 2015 as a summer
intern.
