The Generator sits in a fence enclosure behind the building.
The Building Engineer should test Building Generators 45 minutes to
1 hour every week.

All panels should be taken down and put to the side.
Every part of the Building Generator should be thoroughly inspected.

This is the KOHLER 16 light controller. Your controller will tell you what
components of the Building Generator have problems. In this picture, the red
low oil pressure light is red. In addition, the low water temperature light is
red.
Causes of low oil pressure are.
1. Engine oil level is low
2. Engine oil is contaminated.
3. Engine oil bypass valves are open.
4. Engine oil lines an oil passage is not working.
Causes of low water temperature are.
1. Bad Thermostat.
2. Cooling Concentration.
3. Loose or broken belts.
4. Bad water pump.

1. Run the Generator with on load.
2. Verify that the Generator is running and has no alarms or warnings.
3. Ensure adequate fuel levels.
4. Check that the Generator is in AUTO mode.
5. Make sure there are on leaks.

1. Check engine oil level.
2. Check engine coolant level.
3. Check Battery charger.
The Batteries must have the proper voltage.

Fuel level reading must be documented after every Inspection.
Make sure the oil heater has the proper 120 Volts.

It is very important to keep the manufacture label clean.

The generator label plate has very useful information.
1. Serial number
2. Manufacture date.
3. Fuel type.
4. Voltage
5. Amps
6. NEMA calcification.
7. Model number.

Remove engine oil cap and inspect for leaks.

With you meter check all your electrical components.
Check the engine oil filter.

The date should be placed on the filter during the install of the new filter.
On this Generator, the fuel tank size label is faded.

Make sure battery cable connections are tight and clean.

The Panels are placed back on the Generator once the Inspection is
complete.

Generator areas are checked and locked before leaving.
