BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
 Lafarge (LMEA) (2009 – 2013) & (2014 – Presence)
 Maintenance coach (middle east & Africa, region):
o Supporting cement plants, method team to implement Lafarge maintenance policies. By reviewing
existing maintenance process against Lafarge maintenance policies & roll out action plane with method
teams to eliminate the gab.
o Contributing with plants, mechanical team to establish & implement execution job plans for critical
equipment.
Selected Accomplishments :-
 Algeria ( M’sila plant ) : (2014 – Presence)
o Restore proper kilns axial travelling cycle, by replace defective accumulators of hydraulic thrust roller &
improve PLC set points.
o Upgrade monitoring system for CM drive gearboxes to early detect malfunction & prevent frequent gearbox
failure.
o Roll out process to modify sealing for GG & slide bearing guards in CM to eliminate chronic oil contamination
problem.
 Uganda (Hima plant) : (2012 – 2013)
o Restore proper kiln axial travelling cycle, by replace defective hydraulic thrust accumulator & improve PLC set
points.
o Eliminate false air in VRM by modify sealing between rollers & mill housing.
o Modify bearing fit arrangement for AF vibratory feeder to prevent chronic failure problem.
 Zambia (Chilanga plant) : (2011 – 2012)
o Improve ID fan reliability, by reconditioning it’s shaft on site (welding, machining) to proper bearing seat
tolerances & upgrade bearing type (in collaboration with, SKF).
o Improve plant, industrial cooling water Circuit efficiency, by eliminate water leakage through CT, by pass
valve & calibrate water temperature sensors (supply & return) to give actual temperature

2.  Lafarge (IPMEA): ( 2013 – 2014)

Selected Accomplishments :-
o Reconditioning & overhauling kiln thrust roller assembly including modifying fit tolerance for thrust bearing (in
collaboration with, corporate technical center) to prevent frequent bearing damage (Nigeria & Uganda).
o Reconditioning & overhauling limestone dryer carrying rollers including bearings upgrade, propose and install limit
switches to control axial traveling and propose roller-lubricating device (Nigeria).
o Reconditioning kiln carrying rollers base frame including extension for cracked anchors & civil works (Nigeria).
o Replace kiln sections.(Nigeria & Uganda)
o Weld cracked kiln shell under tire (Tanzania).
 Orascom / Lafarge (ACC) Algeria (2 * 5500 ton clinker / day): (2005 – 2009)
 Mechanical team leader :- (2005 – 2008)
o Cover mechanical needs for utility department ( inspection , planning , execution)
o Contributed in critical equipment overhauls & reconditioning, especially VRM.
 Mechanical admin :- (2008 – 2009)
o Support mechanical teams for all departments, in their complex mechanical needs.
Selected Accomplishments :-
o After fatality, due to VRM hot gas duct support failure, I lead a process to install new rigid supports for the duct in
both lines (in collaboration with, region technical center).
o Overhauling VRM rollers including hub & shaft reconditioning and improve bearing fit tolerance and bearing
internal clearance (in collaboration with, FLS & Timken); we succeeded to extend rollers working life to more than
twice of the original one.
o Overhauling separator-bearing assembly for VRM including correction for shaft bearing seat (in collaboration with,
FLS), we succeeded to extend separator-working life to more than twice of the previous condition.
o Improve ventilation for roots blower stations, by installing (design, selection, erection) new clean & fresh air
feeding system; we succeeded to significantly extend station components, working life.
o Upgrade bearings for roots blower air end (in collaboration with Robschi), we succeeded to extend air end
working life to more than twice of original one.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
 I started my career in 1986 as construction engineer for heavy industry plants (sugar, valve casting).
 After that I worked as maintenance engineer in gypsum plant, including diesel power station (1992 – 1997 )
 In 1997, I started my career in cement industry as a mechanical team leader in ASEC, which was consultant
corporate for operation & maintenance of major cement plants in Egypt.
 In 2005 I worked with Orascom , as mechanical team leader in ACC / Algeria.
 From 2009 to presence I worked with Lafarge as previously explained in the CV
