CAMP COUNSELOR - BLUE LAKE FINE ARTS CAMP
SUMMER 2016-2018
As a camp counselor I would supervise a cabin of eleven students with ages ranging from 11-14, lead games and evening activities within
my unit, as well as participate in ensemble assignments dictated by the camp. The bulk of the work at this job is meeting the many
individual needs of the campers, whether they are trivial issues like the inability to locate uniform, to serious issues such as severe
homesickness, anxiety, special needs, learning and emotional disabilities, and the occasional medical emergency. The two years I’ve spent
as a camp counselor have given me a well of patience and empathy as I’ve interacted with over 88 campers in my cabin and hundreds of
campers camp wide.

As a percussion instructor for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp I was tasked with overseeing the middle school percussion section at the junior

assignments for each piece in preparation for the session concert. I developed my own instructional methods and curriculum for the class
and was well received by the band directors I worked with.
MUSIC TEACHER - GREENSLEEVES MUSIC

I taught a variety of weekly private lessons for either percussion, or piano students of ages ranging from 4-18. This consistent one on one

abilities as a teacher. I would specialize my curriculum and procedures to each student as their needs as musicians and people evolved.
