2. Growing up was hard because I always moved around. When I was in high school I was
behind on credits and didn’t know if I would be able to catch up. While I was in grade eleven
I decided to focus in school, catch up on my credits, and graduate from high school. This was
a day that I will never forget because I accomplished my goal and I danced on stage while
going for my diploma.
3. After graduating from high school I was ready to move on to chef school. I went to George Brown
College taking Culinary Arts Chef Training. As a young man I didn’t know what to expect going to
college because I knew I would be going through an unforgettable experience. Although I was
overwhelmed and afraid to go to college I was ready to take on any challenge because I was open to
my family and friends who encouraged and supported me.
4. This was the outcome of me going to George Brown College as became a graduate during the
2010 year. It wasn’t easy and it was a fight throughout the year because I had to travel for
an hour and a half to get to George Brown for five days a week plus finish my homework.
Although I had a tough teacher for one of my classes in the last semester I stayed focused
and kept my eyes on the prize, then managed to finish and graduate school by God’s grace.
5. After graduating from George Brown College I decided that I didn’t want to pursue that career
because that one teacher discouraged me to do so. I needed a job and I lived in maple so I decided
to work at Canada’s Wonderland as a rides operator in the kid’s park. My team didn’t think we could
win crew of the year because it was never done before at Ghoster. I ended up motivating my team,
singing songs for each ride I worked at, and gave a lot of positive energy to everyone at the park.
That year we got crew of the year and I got crew member of the year for my hard work.
6. After working at Canada’s Wonderland I had no job so I worked at a catering job for 3 weeks but after those
weeks I was looking for a job because they didn’t need me anymore. A friend of mine told me about an
opportunity to work at Earls Kitchen and Bar so I grabbed the opportunity, did the interview, and got the job.
Eventually worked my way up to become the appetizer leader and motivator for the restaurant every Friday
mornings. This is a picture of me and some of the team members I trained and worked with.
7. After working at Earls I decided I wanted to go back to school. I enrolled in Centennial
College taking Business Entrepreneurship. I’ve been very involved with the school and was
randomly selected to take part of a project called “Many Faces Many Voices.” I had to do a
performance for this event and made a song and memorized it within 10 days. It wasn’t easy
but I had fun and it was a great turnout.
