We live in a world where everything from trash receptacles to aircraft-carrier jets must be moved safely, efficiently and easily. Tugs play a huge, contributing role in the fields of aviation, the military, retail, manufacturing, public transportation and public safety. The goal is to ensure that items—both large and small—are maneuvered from Point A to Point B with as little effort as possible, in as little time as possible while still ensuring the utmost in safety. Here are just a few ways tugs turn the word ‘work’ turn into ‘child’s play’.

3. Some aircraft tugs have the appearance of a pint-sized semi
with a completely-enclosed cab and a rear flat-bed to cater to
smaller, single aisle, commercial aircraft. This type of tug can
be used in all types of weather conditions while the operator
remains comfortable in a temperature-controlled, interior.
These tugs feature 4-wheel-drive power trains in addition to 4-
wheel steering which provides impressively-smooth
maneuverability. Depending on the manufacturer, commercial
aircraft tugs are electric-powered or diesel.

5. Business aircraft tugs can be relied on for their all-wheel-drive
powertrain; and are designed to battle all weather conditions.
Outwardly, they almost resemble a hulky-looking golf-cart, and are
perfectly designed with a sit-down, user-friendly operator compartment,
low-profile design and mirror-less hitch visibility. These vehicles can,
seamlessly, tow regional and corporate aircraft; and are diesel, gas,
electric or LP (liquid propane) powered.
Some aviation-specific tugs are perfectly designed for much smaller
aircraft; and are battery-powered, walk-behind models which allow for
one person to safely and effectively maneuver aircraft in tightly-stacked
hangars or for staging on the ramp. Variable-speed, twist-grip
handlebars allow for smooth, easy-to-control acceleration and braking.
Planes of all sizes can be easily moved, thanks to motorized movers

7. City buses, trams, light-rail trains and subways can experience
mechanical failure just like a family SUV—it’s something most of us never
think about. When that happens, however, specialized tugs are called on
the scene. Transit tugs can look like a small Humvee, equipped with
pushing or pulling capabilities than can exceed 85,000 pounds; and
rubber bumpers provide protection for the tug as well as the vehicle in

a specialized tug to do the job for you! Dumpster-tugs will easily push
or pull heavy dumpsters to any desired location. Injuries incurred from
manually-attempting to move dumpsters can be fully expected,
