The Pitch
By Jonathan Aduhene
Prologue
Here I will talk about an overall summary of the groups work and what
our final media product will contain. I will be looking to add
information about the chosen genre for our product.
The Plot/Synopsis
The whole idea of this is about two boys named Ben and Dennis who live in South East
London who live an ordinary life with a group of friends which is commonly referred
to these days as a gang. Stupidity then influences the two to decide to go and steal
from a young school boy not knowing that the school boy who they are about to steal
from was the younger brother of the leader of the rival gang. This then sparks unrest
and the leader of the opposite gangs searches and comes to fight Ben and Dennis in
which the two win the fight.
Meanwhile, the leader goes and gets his gang members as Dennis continuously warns
Ben not to go and visit Dennis' girlfriend who he had previously met secretly before.
However, due to his stubbornness he doesn't hesitate and therefore goes ahead and
puts himself at risk. Ben arrives at his girlfriends house and engages in a romantic
moment in which Dennis catches them which causes unrest between Ben and Dennis
and another fight between the two takes place leaving their friendship in jeopardy.
Later on, Dennis goes out extremely frustrated with the situation he left behind and
fears the worst when caught by a rival gang member. As Ben turned his back on his
former friend he does so too exchanging vital information about Ben's whereabouts
and everyday locations exposing vital information about where he lives and what
time he comes home and is left without a scratch.
The gang later on turn up at Ben's door step and with his younger brother left home
alone they target him and take him hostage. He is later on killed by the gang leaving a
                             very sad and doleful atmosphere.
Product Name – Blood Cries
After discussion we came up with the name ‘Blood Cries’ and we feel
this is a suitable name for our production. We hope that our idea
lives up to the name as the events in which take place are somewhat
disheartening. We need to make sure that the name of the movie has
a positive effect on the audience and this is what we intend to do.
Genre/Target Audience
Our idea is of an Urban-Crime Drama in which I feel the idea falls best
under. I looked at similar products which we could compare our
idea to and felt that as they fall into the same bracket our final piece
                         also falls into this bracket.

I have identified our target audience and have classified our trailer as
a ‘15’ due to some of the content in our idea. After looking at the
characteristics that fall under ‘15’ such as the use of aggressive and
hard-line language as well as violence I felt this was aimed at the
                              accurate age group.

Promotion
Because of lack of funds and research has told me there is a substantial
fee to pay I felt the best way to promote this product is through word
of mouth. I feel as though this way of promoting my idea will
                     definitely reach our target audience.
Production & Distribution
We [The group] already use the name ‘FilmWise’ which we used in our
previous AS Media assignment and have stuck by that name.

Our chosen Distributor is Revolver Entertainment in which we also
stuck with following our course last year as a group. I feel as though
because of their previous experience with a genre such as
ours, Revolver Entertainment would be the preferable choice to
distribute our final product. We aim to use these both the
distributors name and our own name in our final trailer product!
What to Expect!
       • Rap/Religious Music
    • Suspense/Tension/Anxiety
             • Violence
               • Youths
           • Urban Setting
                • Police
    • Mixture of Bliss and Sorrow
• Typical Day in the Lives of a gangster
Magazine and Film Posters
I have decided to base my poster on the film idea and take the
magazine and decide on something completely against the idea the
group had come up with. I will be using a poster similar to the movie
‘Hitman’ as I feel this is a very powerful poster with a lot of detail.
For my magazine cover I will look to use an image similar to the idea
of my product. I feel this will be a good idea to do so.
