Position: Engine RoomSupervisor/Work Center Supervisor(Secret Security Clearance)
• As the Engine RoomSupervisor I was the senior supervisor in charge of the USS West Virginia’s
engine room, secondary steam plant systems, and enlisted junior personnel watch stations.
Fulfilling the duties of the Engine Room Supervisor required detailed knowledge of Naval
Nuclear Reactors,associated steam generating and naval propulsion systems, as well as an ability
to manage and coordinate the successfuland timely completion of numerous intricate tasks under
immense pressure and time constraints.
• As the Work Center Supervisor I maintained a detailed working knowledge of all equipment
deficiencies within the Work Center and scheduled all weekly or greater Work Center
maintenance and supervised proper accomplishment. I also maintained the supply of all parts and
equipment required to complete scheduled maintenance. I was responsible for the training of
twelve other nuclear-trained mechanics in the planned maintenance program, work controls, and
safety tag-outs, and ensured work procedures were adequate and proper testing and inspection of
work was done prior to job acceptance.
• As the Aid to the Squadron Engineer I maintained all boats maintenance schedules, inspections,
incident reports, and monitored their work packages. I also wrote a Nuclear Reactor
startup/shutdown breifing checklist that is used across the Eastern Seaboard. I was hand selected
by the Commador of Squadron 20 to the join the ranks of Master Chiefs and Commanders to help
run and maintain all submarines out of Kings Bay Naval Base.
