2. About
This document contains templates and assets that can be used as
marketing material by the SES to communicate to students.
All templates are produced on Microsoft Powerpoint and can easily
be edited and reproduced. The images and assets can be moved
around and replaced as per likeness.
3. The three template formats you will find are:
β’ Tall- to be used for vertical screens
β’ Wide- to be used for horizontal screens and slides
β’ Square- to be used for social media.
4. Exporting
To export your finished
product:
File > Export > Change File
Type > PNG
This will save your current
slide as an image file which
you can easily share.
5. Editing tips
Language :
β’ Use everyday words and small sentences. Avoid jargon!
β’ Ask questions to get students engaged
β’ Use bullet points where possible
β’ Use positive and affirming words
β’ Provoke action- if you are promoting a service, include a link or
phone number where the student can access it.
β’ Refer to students as βyouβ and the staff/faculty as βus/weβ β this
promotes an open and personal relationship.
6. Editing tips
Imagery:
β’ Chose images with students in focus.
β’ Avoid artsy/building shots without context.
β’ Ensure the image doesnβt distract the viewer from the text.
7. Editing tips
Formatting:
β’ Text on tall screens will look bigger on display- make sure theyβre
not too big.
β’ Text on social media posts will look smaller- check the finished
product on your phone to make sure students will be able to read it.
β’ Use Arial font on all text.
β’ For slides- export your finished poster first and then drag and drop
your image into your slide.
8. Assets
The assets folder contains patterns, icons and logos that you
can use to improve your marketing materials or even make
new ones.
