Masthead analysis

1. The masthead is formal to some extent and
very appealing. It appeals to a wide range of
age groups, from teenagers to adults and both
man and woman. The font is bold and this
makes it stand out further. The masthead
colour keep changing in different issues. Most
of the time they are very bright and eye-catching
because it wants to appeal to its target
audience. Depending on the main image (if the
main image appeals to an older audience) it will
sometimes have a dark colour, such as brown.
Also the mise-en-scene also has an influence on
the colour of the masthead. By using bright
colours it gives a very positive connotation of
harmony and confidence.
