Drug addiction is the greatest menace of modern times. It is posing the biggest threat to all levels
of human life all over the world. Drugs or narcotics mean all those things that produce a state of
drowsiness. The common forms of them are Heroin, opium, alcohol, sleeping pills etc. But the
worst of them is heroin.
In the past, people used the traditional drugs like opium, alcohol and hashish etc. these drugs did
not pose any great danger but now with heroin, the situation has become very alarming.
According to recent survey, there are six million heroin addicts in Pakistan.
Narcotics are generally used on the pretext of lessening mental tension. Unemployment’s,
poverty, injustice, exploitation, family disputes, frustration and disappointments increase tension.
In the absence of proper outlets, mentally disturbed people use narcotics to release their tension.
Again, bad company, way ward society and detachment from religion contribute to drug
addiction. Moreover, a lot of profit from selling drugs has also made it lucrative business to
become rich over-night.
Drug addiction is full of much harm. First, it affects our lungs and causes tuberculosis. Second, it
devalues the honor and prestige of a person and he becomes a laughing stock for others. Third, it
makes man a criminal. Fourth, it harms the prestige of a country and nation in the eyes of other
nation and countries.
The government of Pakistan is trying its best to stop the prevalence of narcotics in the country.
The production of opium has been stopped; the treatment of addicts is done throughout the
country. In Pakistan, 26 weaning treatment centers have been established throughout the country.
Special law enforcing agencies are operating to combat the sale, manufacture and trafficking of
narcotics. Severe punishments are awarded to those who conduct this obnoxious business.

2. Let us join hands with the government in its fight against drugs and play our vital role in saving
our feature generations from slow death. We must not waste even a single moment to join this
fight against drug addiction.
2: Write a process essay on
‘‘Cook your best dish”
Cooking is considered as necessary for girls in our society. I usually don’t like to cook. But I
only cook for my best dish which is biryani. Biryani is considered as traditional dish and very
popular among peoples in our country. I like it too and also make good in cooking of it.
How to make a good biryani? This is not so difficult to make it. It is made with spices, rice,
vegetables, or meat. This flavorful rice dish is easy to cook, and is great for vegetarian or non-
vegetarian meals. Ingredients required to cook biryani are as following:

2 and ½ cups Basmati Rice, washed and soaked. ½ teaspoon Cumin Seeds, 10 Cloves, 1 and ½
tablespoon Salt
For the Chicken Masala
1 and ½ kg Chicken Pieces, 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil, 3 medium Onions, peeled and sliced, 1 whole
Garlic Bulb, peeled, 2 inch piece Ginger, peeled and roughly chopped, 1 and ½ cup Plain
Yoghurt, 2 tablespoons Kewra Water, 10 Cloves, 3 Black Cardamoms, 2 inch Cinnamon Stick, 1
teaspoon Black Peppercorns, 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds, 10 Green Cardamoms, ¼ teaspoon
Yellow Food Coloring, 7 Green Chilies, 5 Dried Prunes (Alu Bukhara), 1 teaspoon Salt, or to
taste, 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder, or to taste, 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander, 1 Lemon, sliced
into rounds and Extra Cumin Seeds

3. First, start off the rice. Fill a large pan with water. Add the salt, cumin seeds and cloves. Bring to
the boil. Once the water is boiling, drain the rice and add it in. And, bring to the boil again. Then,
turn the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes. Drain the rice immediately. Spread it out onto
a large tray so it can cool.
Next, begin the chicken. In another large pan, heat the vegetable oil and add the sliced onions.
Allow them to cook on a medium heat until golden brown. Place the green cardamoms into a
spice grinder, and grind. Set aside. Then, put the cloves, cinnamon stick, black cardamoms, black
peppercorns and cumin seeds into the grinder. Grind until a powder forms and set aside. Place
the ginger and garlic into a food processor and blend with a little water until a smooth paste
forms. Set aside. By now, the onions should be nicely browned. Remove ¾ of the fried onions
from the pan with a slotted spoon and lay them out onto a plate.
Add the chicken pieces to the pan with the remaining onions. Stir fry for few minutes until
sealed. Then, add in the ginger garlic paste, and stir in. Add in the salt, chili powder, ground
coriander and all the grinded spices (except the green cardamoms) to the pan. Give everything a
good mix. Lower the heat to a simmer and cover. Leave the chicken to cook for 25 minutes or
until cooked through.
Meanwhile, prepare the fresh lemon. Slice the green chilies through the middle and set them
aside. Take the onions that we put onto a plate, and roughly crush them with your hands. Stir
them into the plain yoghurt. Once the chicken is cooked, add in the yoghurt and onion mixture.
Throw in the dried prunes and the kewra water as well. Cook for a few minutes and then remove
from heat.
Now to layer the biryani, Take a large pot and add a splash of water and a few pinches of cumin
seeds. Spread out half the rice in the pan. Then add all the chicken masala and spread out evenly.
Lay out the lemon slices and green chili slices. Top with the rest of the rice. Sprinkle the grinded
green cardamoms over it and the yellow food coloring. Cover with a lid and place on the highest
heat for 4 minutes. Turn the heat right down to the lowest and leave to steam like that for 15
minutes. Turn the heat off. Leave the pot covered and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Now the biryani is ready to serve.

learn, to do business and to live in comfort. However technology has also caused us concerns. Its
poor application has resulted into the pollution of the environment and it has also cause serious
threat to our lives and society. This calls for proper use of technology. The biggest challenge
facing people is to determine the type of future we need to have and then create relevant
technologies which will simplify the way we do things.
It is impossible to explore how each new advanced technology has impacted our lives and how it
will impact the future. Technology impacts the environment, people and the society as a whole.
The way we use technology determines if its impacts are positive to the society or negative

production, which has been advantage to all business ,the manage these advancements to
gain competitive advantage. A good example is the 3G/4G broadband ,small business
have taken advantage of this superfast internet to reach target markets with less cost of

In the past, only big successful companies would dominate the market because they could
afford the expensive advertising media ,like T.V to reach any target market . Small
business typically do not have fat budget and find it hard to compete in any profitable
market .
Now with advance internet technologies, a small business can use most advanced internet
marketing tools with a small budget.
4: A TIME WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR DIRECTION IN YOUR
LIFE
Life is the biggest blessing of Almighty Allah. It’s true that our prayer can change our destiny,
our path and the whole life. It was 16th August when I, join my college I was not satisfied but
my family wants me to join so I had too. After two month one of my friend transfer to Peshawar
because of his father’s job. I was very upset. She was my one of good friend .But I managed.

5. It was the morning of 16 December and I was taking my second class which always fascinated
me. In the middle of my class, I started receiving calls from my friend. I put it on silent profile
thing So that, I could take care of it after the class.
Class over and I went out and called my friend back. His sister received the call and cried .I
asked her what is wrong? She said that some terrorists attack the school of Ayesha (my friend). I
still could not grasp the sensitivity of the issue and shake of any negative thought that wander
into my mind and believing that everything going to be okay. I try to make her understand that
she will be alright. After reaching home; when I turned on the T.V heard that terrorists have
made the school students hostages.
I called her sister she didn’t answer than I call his brother. He said that they are going to check
the hospitals.25 minutes later his brother called me I felt little relieved .On receiving the call I
come to know that ‘She is dead’. This sentence break me right at the spot and I started crying .I
could not believe my ears.
I learned that my life is so uncertain. That day I changed my direction of life and realized that
God’s will is your deepest desire.

possible.
But the newspaper is the only comprehensive source of daily news that covers all the topics
related to current affair events.
There are many benefits of newspaper .It keep us in touch with current affairs .News and views
from every corner of the world satisfy the public. Commercial news is given for the benefits of
trader. The sportsmen find the news of its own taste .The unemployed person can about the
vacancies. The political leader can announce their programs. A company can advertise its
products to its customers.

In order to receive good and true news, it is necessary that newspaper should be given freedom.
Jefferson says, ‘’when communication media is free all are safe.’’
There should be no restrictions of spreading true news and correct information. In the country, it
should be compulsory to give complete freedom to media.

System between Teachers and Students. Its Advantages and
disadvantages
E-mail is a latest source of communication which has made the whole of the world a global
village. It needs an internet connection for communication. Being connected to internet, we can
call it a type of electronic media.
E-mail system has been proved too much useful and fruitful in various field of life. In education
field it is playing an important role, communication between teachers and students through e-
mail is very useful; if a student hesitate to ask any type of question in the class, he can personally
consult the problem with the teacher or internet on e-mail.

7. Secondly, to communicate through e-mail we have to type the data on computer or mobile
phone. In this way we can save the data which can be used in the rest of life. We have to type a
data only one time and send it to others many times.
Sometimes, a student has emergency to be on leave, if he is unable to send his leave to the office,
he contact through e-mail either with the students or with his teachers.
A teacher can advertise or propagate his theories to students through e-mail and can win the
favor of both students and parents, along with fame, respect and name. The principal of an
educational organization can contact the teachers through e-mail.
Beside this it has also some disadvantages like that some people send inappropriate mails to
other and also disturb them by sending empty mails.
E-mail has both harm and benefits; however it is up to the user how he uses it positively and
negatively. E-mail has not compelled us to the negative use.
So I suggest college authorities to adopt the email system because it is helpful in communicating
between teacher to students and teachers to college administration. This system have more
benefits then harms so it must be implemented in our college. I hope that college administration
will consider my advice for the advancement of college.

I knew there was a problem when I ran out of breath by walking up the stairs. I was never
concerned about my health. I ate whatever I wanted to and moved as little as I could possibly get
away with. Having asthma, I never really engaged in rigorous sports activities. Thoughts of
eating healthy and exercising filled me with anxiety. I questioned if good health was really worth
all the trouble. My parents would tell me that I needed to do something about my weight, but that
would just annoy me and I'd brush it off because I simply did not care. I was lacking proper
motivation, and it wasn't until the last day of 12th class that I found it.
Sitting in class, finished with class, everyone was excitedly talking about future. My teacher
seemed to be in a good mood as well, and she told us why. Being one of my favorite teachers
who I had looked up to all year, I paid close attention. Months before, a doctor had told her that
she needed to do something about his poor physical health before it got out of hand. Taking this
information, she made a massive lifestyle change and fixed it. Hearing this story had a special
effect on me because I was in a similar situation. I didn't want my health to reach a point so low

8. that a doctor would have to tell me to make a change. I was motivated to make a similar change
and fix my own health so I could have that same feeling of joy I saw on his face.
I knew it wouldn't be easy, but nothing worth having comes easy. I went home that day and
began researching on what to do. I also downloaded an app to help me keep track of my
progress. I found out that stress can cause weight gain, but now that I was free from the burden
of all those classes, I could check that one off. I also needed to incorporate exercise into my life.
My family couldn't afford a gym membership for me, but luckily my eldest brother had bought a
treadmill several years back that I could use. Another thing I desperately needed to correct was
my diet. I'd been eating greasy foods for too long. I didn't want to make my mom cook me a
separate dish for every meal, so I found simple things I could make myself or my mom could
make very easily. With all these factors accounted for and a plan made, I set out to achieve my
goal.
Just as I had thought, it wasn't easy. Several things came up and it seemed like they were trying
to throw me off. First was Ramadan. After spending a whole day fasting, it was tough not to
indulge at night. I couldn't exercise during the day due to the scorching heat and a fear of
dehydration. Even through all that, I managed. I incorporated vegetables into my diet. Those low
calorie nutrient rich foods made me feel full without getting in the way of my goal. After
conquering one obstacle, another presented itself. My sister, her husband, and their two kids
decided to visit. Our house isn't very big, and the treadmill is in the same room as my 3 year old
nephew played around in. I thought I could exercise when they slept, but being an old treadmill,
it was simply too loud. I had to time it perfectly every day. When they were eating, I worked out.
When they were sleeping, the kitchen was free and I could continue my healthy diet.
Life kept throwing things my way, but I couldn't let any of them hold me down. I had set a goal
and I wasn't going to give up this time. Following through with my goal, I managed to lose
almost 30 pounds in 4 months and I knew I was one step closer to living a healthy life.

for you to release your tension is settling yourself on a chair and watching a movie shows which
can help relieve your mind and easily drive you into a dream. However, if you want a dynamic
program, you should better participate in a game show. You can play, you can dance, and you
can do almost everything in this kind of programs. Furthermore, if you are good enough, you can
even achieve many prizes from the game. People really enjoy this kind of TV programs, of the
three categories this is the best way to entertain. Beside these current affairs programs are also
very popular on TV.
The programs which are considered that they make up most of anyone's TV time are
advertisement programs. Advertisement programs are inserted discretely into the other shows or
in a bad day, it can be shown continuously. When you are watching a movie, a game show, you
always be disturbed by many advertisements. It can be a milk advertisement, groceries mobile
phone or cellular company’s advertisement. It is very annoying for most audiences, however ad
programs is indispensable for TV producer. They are the main financial source of every TV
companies. Without them, every other show will not have enough money to keep going. Because
of this harsh fact, advertisement programs are the most important part of entire TV industry.
In conclusion all of these categories make up anyone's TV time. Nevertheless, that does not
mean that people are always fond of watching all of these programs. The best advice is choosing
suitable programs to watch. They can be news programs for people who want to update
information, entertainment programs for who want to relax or advertisement programs for who
want to buy something.
