The document discusses a project aimed at developing a service system to address decreasing marriage and birth rates in Taiwan's aging society. It summarizes the team's process which included immersing themselves in the local culture, interviewing elders to understand their perspectives, discovering issues faced by urban young couples through role-playing, and developing an "Elderly Support Exchange Talent New Balance Live" concept to connect elders and young families. The concept proposes using a support platform and connected devices to match elders' resources with families' needs for issues like childcare, exercise, rest, and healthy food.

As the population of Taiwan has aged, both marriage rates and birthrates have
decreased. In this activity, we learned that the wisdom of the elders was both
precious and worth inheriting; that the value of community interaction could not
be ignored. As such, we attempted to develop a service system to solve the issues
of decreased marriage rates and birthrates.
1. How to effectively work with the retired elders in the community to enrich
their lives through resource communication
2. In facing an aging society, how to provide elders with exemplary care
services.

DEFINE
After several experiences, observations and
interviews, our team presented our thoughts
on different issues after brainstorming to
help us understand our experiences.
We compiled all the concepts after several
discussions among the teammates, and
after posting our ideas on post-its, voted to target our subjects as an urban young
couple. We also proposed the core values of our innovative services: Connecting,
Networking, and Understanding.
In the activities of the first three days, we tried to observe and experience through
immersion to learn local Taiwanese culture and the lifestyles of the residents.
During the interviewing of the Yishanli elders, we found that the elders were
open-minded and easy-going towards their lives. Through our enlightening
conversations, we also learned from the rich wisdom and experience of the elders
and discovered different ways of thinking.

Discussion – through discussion, we tried to articulate
the entire service eco-system related to our urban young
couple.
Interview – by interviewing our target group, we learned
more about the needs and lifestyles of urban young
couples.
Scenario – using the interview sample as reference, we
created the target group scenario and presented it with
visualization to further discuss our service concept.
Role Play Script – to help us empathize with our
target group, we used role-play to present a script to help with the follow up
development of our concepts.
From the script, we sorted several vital areas for the young urban couple:
1. Lack of knowledge about how to teach children.
2. No time for exercise.
3. Need more rest.
4. Too many complaints from neighborhood.
5. Need healthier food.
In the delivery stage, we presented the overall service through a visualized service
eco-system to further elaborate on our main design concept. We then used a
service blueprint to describe the actual operational process of the service system
and provided a detailed service outlook to the related stakeholders, allowing the
participants of the service system to understand the value and concept more
easily.
