To celebrate the “Workers’ Memorial Day” the International
Panel aims at:
Providing a clear reference framework on the content and
modalities promoted and supported by the International
Institutions, European Union and Italian Institutions, for the
achievement of an effective prevention in the workplace and
living environment.
Promoting the city of Milan as an international capital for the
development of a culture of prevention. The fact that Milan has
defined itself as a Smart City, especially in the development of a
social economy, has made it possible to theorise the Smart Safety
as a further cornerstone of a safe, innovative and inclusive city as
Milan is meant to be.
Introducing the “Centre for the Culture of Prevention in the
Workplace and Living Environment”. The “Centre” was
established on the basis of an agreement among the City of Milan
(Division for Labour Policies, Economic Development,
University), ASL of Milan (Local Health Authority), INAIL
(National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work)
Regional Directorate of Lombardy, Territorial Labour
Directorate of Milan and Fire Brigade of Milan. The “Centre”
aims at promoting the culture of prevention in all the life cycle of
individuals, families, citizens, workers, companies and
organisations.
Identifying the possible forms of synergistic cooperation that can
be activated between public and private sector, and in particular
among institutional contacts and social partners, employers'
associations, professional associations, in order to apply an
effective and efficient prevention in the workplace and living
environment.

In order to make the organisation efficient, the International Panel will be
prepared before the event: a set of questions (agreed among speakers,
journalist moderator of the round table and organisers of the event) will be
prepared in advance.
Due to the limited time reserved to each speaker (15-20 minutes) and to allow
the dissemination of the Panel content soon after the event, the speakers are
invited to prepare a power point presentation and forward it to the organisers
10 days before the event.

On the occasion of the “Workers’ Memorial Day” the City of Milan Cabinet
Member Responsible for Labour Policies, Economic Development, University and
Research, Mrs Cristina Tajani, inaugurates the “Centre for the Culture of
Prevention in the Workplace and Living Environment". The “Centre” was
established on the basis of an agreement among the City of Milan (Division for
Labour Policies, Economic Development and University), ASL of Milan (Local
Health Authority), INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at
Work) Regional Directorate of Lombardy, Territorial Labour Directorate of Milan
and Fire Brigade of Milan. The “Centre” aims at promoting, with a ludic approach
too, the culture of prevention in all the life cycle of individuals, families, citizens,
workers, companies and organisations.
Furthermore, the “Centre” aims to be a reference point for young people, workers,
trade unions and companies that would like to approach safety issues in a new
way, in particular the issues related to prevention in the living environment, study
and work. The “Centre” will promote a new work culture - in line with the current
social and economic changes - through meetings, seminars and the dissemination
of different information materials (from brochures to teaching posters).
A special meeting has been organised by the City of Milan together with all the
Institutions which made their contribution to the establishment of the Centre to
introduce goals, objectives and future activities of the “Centre” to social partners,
employers' associations, professional associations and citizens.
