Korea was originally divided into tribes that eventually organized into three kingdoms - Goguryeo in the north and Silla and Baekje in the south, according to legend founded in 37 BC, 18 BC, and 57 BC, respectively. Korea has two official languages, Korean and English, and is known for Korean fried chicken, red rice cakes, its over 4,000 islands, and for having more plastic surgeries performed than anywhere else. The won is Korea's currency.
