In 2012 the Dutch Association of Universities of Applied Sciences requested EP-
Nuffic to develop a new instrument to showcase the strengths of the Dutch
Universities of Applied Sciences internationally in terms of:
labor market relevant education
applied research
secure relevance by co-creating it with companies and society
This is resulted in the development ot the Living Lab concept
targeting specific (top) sectors in the Netherlands and abroad
piloted worldwide in several countries
Using the SIA RAAK philosophy as one of the building blocks

Het Nederlandse praktijkgerichte onderzoek internationaal te profileren
Visie te ontwikkelen wat internationaal praktijkgericht onderzoek inhoudt
Faal – en succesfactoren te identificeren voor internationalisering van
het praktijkgerichte onderzoek
Praktijkervaring op te doen en lessen te trekken in Brazilie om deze in te
kunnen zetten in mogelijke uitrol van de internationale praktijkgerichte
onderzoekssamenwerking naar en met andere (buiten)landen
