2. Academic Policy & Expectations
•
Academics are first and foremost the top priority, no questions asked. Hardwork in the classroom
translates to hardwork on the field & vice versa; how you conduct yourselves on & off the field are
equally as important. 4s Ranch Boys Lacrosse members will be held to a high academic & conduct
standard, which will better prepare our players for CIF standards they will face in High School. The
purpose behind our academic policy is to stress the importance of success within the classroom
and create a tradition of academic achievement.
•
Progress Reports: All players will be sent home with progress reports to be filled out by their
teachers every month during the season.

•
Players with missed assignments will be spoken to directly by the coaching staff.
Players struggling in particular subjects will be encouraged to seek out teammates for help.
Players with any conduct issues will sit for a minimum of 1 game.
Tutoring/Extra Help: If any players require additional instruction from teachers or classmates that
conflict with scheduled practice time, please inform the coaching staff at least 24 hours ahead of
scheduled practice.
3. Attendance Policy
•
Practice is an essential component to player and team success. The coaching staff will prepare intricate practice
plans each week filled with goals to increase our individual abilities and team performance. If a player fails to
attend practice they are hurting themselves and the overall team success.
•
The following rules apply to player participation:

Practices:

•
Attend all practices and games on time prepared to participate.
Any absence from a practice or game must be communicated to a coach at least 24 hours in advance.
Frequent missed practices for any reasons may impact playing time, please plan accordingly to have appointments/meetings on
non-practice days
Practices will be structured to maximize our time as a team; high tempo, high reps.
Conditioning will be a key component to our programs success, I advise players to start some timed 1-2 mile runs.
Players will be expected to have all their equipment at each practice, including mouthpieces.
Players will be expected to conduct themselves accordingly during practices; we are not there to ‘hangout’, we are there to work
and get better.
Injured Players:
–
Injuries are very serious and not to be taken lightly.. ALL injuries should be reported to the coaching staff immediately, no
matter how small! The coaching staff requires injured players to attend all practices until they are cleared to play by their
Doctor.
4. 5th & 6th Grade Still Accepting
Registrants
• If you have any friends or neighbors
interested, please have them contact me.
• Refer a 5th/6th grade player & get 1 free
sweatshirt from the team store (first 5
referrals only)
5. 7th & 8th Grade Evaluations & Team
Placement
• After the first week of practice, players will be placed on the team
deemed most appropriate by the coaching staff.
• We will be more competitive this year, so it is very possible that boys
from last years ‘A’ team will be on this years ‘B’ team.
• Player evaluations will be ongoing, so at the beginning of each
month, updated rosters will be sent to all of our families.
– Players on the ‘A’ team will have to continually earn their spot
– Players on the ‘B’ team will continually have an opportunity to move up
• All practices are open to watch, if any of you wonder why your son
was placed on a particular team, you are more than welcome to
come and see them at practice.
• We will have fully integrated portions of each & every practice, so all
of our coaches will be working with all of the boys.
• We are skewed slightly with more 8th graders than last year, so there
will be 8th graders on the ‘B’ team
