Prince Prospero's Masquerade Ends in Death's Red Room
1. The Masquerade of The Red Death: Prince Prospero Tale
For I, Prince Prospero, Prosperous to all, untouched from
man and disease, calls upon you to join me in my palaces, to a
lock in masquerade ball to escape this undesirable disease. This
is a once in a lifetime chance that is simply to die for.
-sincerely Prince Prospero
Yes, this is a very lovely invite. Send it to all my dearest and richest friends hurry, we
haven’t got long. Now, let get preparations in place.
Months later
The house is looking magnificent. Oh my, more guest are here, let them in. As I stood on
the balcony, looking down on those below me, I felt like a god. I stood by and watch as my
people suffer but who would rule the kingdom if I was sick or worst dead. They are inferior to
me and I am superior, they wouldn’t dare rebel from their prince. Tis, I have guests to attend to.
As I descend down the stairs, I see many of my hale friends. I laugh as they try to avoid the
blood-stained colored room. As they last of the guest arrived, a horrible screech is made as the
door is bolted shut. I gracefully make my way through the crowd and I could see is lovely
women, all I could hear is beautiful music. Everyone and everything was gay. As the party raved
on, loud note interrupted from the clock, everyone grow still and everything stopped. I made a
grin to hide my embarrassment as it came to a stop and a nervous chuckle as I order the
musicians to resume playing, and all was well again for sometimes. I later meet a lovely maiden
as we danced, sung, and talked, with each other the whole time, I fell in love. I promised to
marry her, to make her my princess when this bless it plague passed. She smiled a simple and
beautiful smile. I was irritated when the clocks struck twelve. Again it ranged, the appropriate
numbers of time, but this time a masked fool, appeared dressed as death and smelled of rotten

dares”, I order someone to seize it but no one dared to move towards the appalling figure. I
starred a ghastly at the figure as it started to move. The stench drove me away pushing me
against the wall. It intruded pass all the rooms, finally making it to the black room. I felt inferior,
pathetic, and weak as it passed through. Soon, those feelings was overwhelmed by anger, hatred,
and embarrassment; that I snatched a dagger from one of my guest waist and charged furiously
after it. As I came upon it, it turns and I drop the dagger, for I was struck by a force unknown to
me. I now felt impure and unholy, I let out a shout as the darkness painfully pulse through me.
Then, I saw my friends charge at the now blurry image, but all fall to their feet. As I glanced
around and seen blood pouring from their eyes and pores, I realize then and only then, that it was
death that was prosperous to all not me, then I was surround by darkness.
