1. For our film I needed to come up with a name that could
have an impact on the audience and that they could relate
back to my horror film and the genre of it. I got with my
group and we discussed different names that we could use.
This involved intensive hours
looking and researching words
through dictionary’s and on the
internet to establish a good name
that we could use. We found a
thesaurus online and used this to
enter words and to look up words
todo with demons and
mysterious figures. The reason did this is because during the film you see a dark cloaked figure and
this would hopefully scare our audience. So naming the film something that links with the antagonist
was vital. After a lot of research I looked up the word “demon”, from this I was able to access many
different names that associate with demons and one stood out. The word “Entity”. When looking up
the meaning I discovered that it meant a thing with independent existence. This I found fascinating
and thought that it would fit in well as a description of the dark character. From this title I hoped
that the audience would feel intrigued into what our film is about but at the same time scared as
they don’t know what is in store for them. That a paranormal presence might be about throughout
the film. Because the film that we were trying to create is a slahser that features paranormal
happening this title was perfect for it. The title gives away that something mysterious is happening
but not too much so it spoils the film.
