1. Self reflection
My strength in this assignment was my ability to connect the self esteem to
my own up bring. I can relate my own real life to this assignment and also
challenge me to work on making a change in someone else life. I felt like I
can use my own experience to put myself in the children perspective and
understand where they are coming from. I based my life on piaget theory
because he believe in children learning by doing and Reggie Emelia also
talks about how children learn from the environment.
Doing things like yoga shaped my life and helped me with my self esteem.
My strength also lies with me using class notes to connect with this
assignment.
I had lots of challenges with this assignment that any work I have done. First
was my typing which takes me forever and also English been my second
language makes this sometimes difficult to translate it to English, like I have
the idea but to write it in English was difficult.
Also raising four children under six years and having the time to study and
type was difficult. They all wants mum attention, and with my newborn
baby makes things worse for me. Sleepless night, feeling tired all the time,
not able to concentrate.
I mostly used Reggie theory with my children now, thus giving them the
opportunity to explore on their own, learning to take risk without any fear,
trying new things they are afraid off and always try not to please others. I
have also this theory in my social life, by accepting things that can never be
changed and to learn from my mistakes.
