2. Italy
Italy is located in the Southern Europe. It
has got a population of 59.7 million
inhabitants and its capital is Rome. Its
Northern border is delimited by The Alps
and the rest of the territory is surrounded
by the Tyrrhenian, the Ionian and the
Adriatic, seas, united in the
Mediterranean Sea. Sicily and Sardinia are
the main islands . the Vatican City and San
Marino are inside the Italian Republic.
Rome, which was the capital of the
Roman Empire, was for centuries the
political and cultural center of Western
civilization.
3. Our Region: Lazio
Lazio is an administrative region of Central
Italy, and Viterbo is one of its five main
cities, among which there is Rome, the
capital. The region is surrounded by
mountains and stretches along the
Tyrrhenian Sea. One of its main river is the
Tevere.
4. Province of Viterbo
The province of Viterbo stretches from Rome to
Tuscany, whit the Tyrrhenian Sea to the West and
Umbria to the East. It has a population of about
300,000 and its capital is Viterbo, the area’s largest
town whit approximately 60,000 inhabitants. The
town is geographically at the center of the region.
Know also as “Tuscia”, the province of Viterbo
expresses the vivacity of an area in which the
economy has been created by man rather than
imposed on him. It is an where agriculture represents
not only an enormous resource but also an essential
part of local life, full of pride and kindness. Its
centuries-old trade is geared to offer quality; its
folklore remains alive in festivals and commemorative
events. The whole area is studded whit historical and
artistic memories. Gastronomy is also important here
since farm products find their way from the fields to
the many restaurant tables of the area in just a few
hours.
5. City of Viterbo
The town has ancient origins (it is believed that Viterbo derives from the Latin Urbs Vetus,
that is, the Old Town) and has a large medieval town center San Pellegrino. Viterbo is
historically known as the City of the Popes: in fact, in the thirteenth century, the Papal
Palace hosted the Popes for many years and there were various elected Popes: .

The institute Francesco Orioli is situated in Viterbo in road Villanova. In the institute they are much
courses: Maintenance Transports, Fashion, Tourist, business, Installation, Social, Graphic Advertising.
The headmaster in F. Orioli is the Luigi Valente. In the institute is presents many laboratories and
many classrooms.
