Different genres have different tones
Thriller has melancholy and sorrowful
depending on the excitement of the film the pitch varies
In action films it would be quite a high pitch
In films that contain blood and gore it would have a low
pitch
 Music represents the main character e.g. mysterious character
more mysterious music or dull character more dull music.
