successful filing of a Provisional Patent Application to the United
States Patent and Trademark Office. In later pages in this document,
we present blank forms and tips with respect to how to complete some
of the things which cannot be done well in the Word document that

• Title 37 CFR 1.84 is the reference. Does not say much, just general.
• Dimensions only needed if it is new or critical
• References stay constant
• All in description should appear, not mentioned should not appear. NEED TO
• Margins L1”, R5/8, T1”, 3/8”, title block on the back
• Metric is not mandatory, but I will do both where needed
• Use References for parts, dimensions, critical points and new stuff
• DO NOT put any scales on at all, could be limiting
• Going to need figure with Graphics
• Exploded views, with separate parts embraced by a bracket, to show the
relationship or order of assembly of various parts are permissible. When an
exploded view is shown on same sheet as another figure, the exploded view
should be placed in brackets.
