Attached are about 10 from my Philanthropic List that I pitched to Steve Ivy after we had lunch about 5 years ago. Had a business idea on the front. Great guy, and if you ever have paintings or art over a million bucks, Heritage Auctions is who you should call. I never do though :(

Forgot to describe my ‘Asset Splitting’. Realized it is not described
too well in my deck and I skipped over it. Could have some merit.
Charity Ideas for Steve Ivy One thing I forgot at lunch
Have a business idea relating to historical photographs, but will ask
my friend at Amon Carter to research before I write it up to show
anyone. Hope to get back to it sometime middle of next year.
For online auctions or
silent auctions, people
could offer smaller
amounts to ‘buy into’
assets they feel will go
up that they do not need
to take possession of or
feel are undervalued.
Example, 10 people buy
10 ‘portions’ of an item
with understanding it will
be resold after a
specified period of time.
Bidder could bid
up to $5,000 for 10% of
Item X to ‘Hold for at
least 2 years.’ If a group
of partial bidders
together would beat out
the single bidder for X,
then ownership (partial)
would transfer to them
with a stipulation that HA
would re-auction a piece
at a set time, say 2-3
years.
This would be
complicated to set-up and
securities issues would
need to be navigated,
BUT premise is the same
for company stock
splitting. Reducing the
price to ‘get in’ drives up
total price. HA gets paid
for 3 things: this auction,
storage, next auction. All
with little additional costs.
I really liked this idea, and think it could be something interesting. This could be a great way to
make a lot more money using existing processes and facilities. Can describe more if interested.
Note: This is for the speculative or financial collector, not the passionate one who wants things to hold

Not sure these are my best ideas, but some I though might be of
interest to you given your focus and typical business.
Charity Ideas for Steve Ivy Overview – 1 thru 5
# List # Name Description
1 P27
High School Extracurricular
Charity Project Bounties
High school teams and clubs use car washes and other activities to raise
money. Most of these are ineffective uses of their time and rely on parent
generosity. Idea would be to create a list of tasks with corporate sponsors
(and dollar amounts attached to each) and award them to clubs when
done. Example: Paint Elderly Center ($300), Clean up park ($150)
2 P41
‘DinnerOnSponsor’ – Unique
idea to provide mentor type
exposure to low income kids
The idea is to sponsor 2 x 2 dinners between minority kids from lower
income areas and MBA or JD students from the local schools. After their
graduation they will not have time for it, nor will a nice ‘dinner’ be an
inducement to spend time. Have this all written up, see attached file.
3 P71
Exotic Car Club Meeting at
Children’s Hospital
I will probably do this in the future. Was shopping for an exotic earlier this
year, and attended some club meetings. Idea would be to have a club
meeting outside Children’s Hospital in the parking lot, get a sponsor (I will
pay) and have a food truck or two come give food. Invite the kids outside
(who could) to see and sit in the cars. Liability precludes giving rides.
4 P158
Homeless Identifiers and
Donations via Smartphone
Original idea was to do this through PayPal, but with the advent of
Smartphones and apps, makes it easier. Idea is to provide homeless
people with identifying numbers, and allow people to make silent
donations from their phones. This would incentivize them to be on better
behavior (e.g. not annoy people on the streets). Fund distribution is tricky.
5 P170
Homeless Profiles on Net
with an ‘Exit Plan’ and target
(CitySquare is perfect group)
Just today Dallas paper showed that chronic homeless is actually rising,
while total is going down. I never give. Ever. The idea is to profile
homeless individuals with a list of needs: job, housing for X months, new
clothes, furniture, etc. and a total cost. Allow people to see the person’s
photo, read the story and give. Money is released when it hits to goal.
List# is where it fell on my Philanthropic List, separate of the business ideas. Only 209 to date. Some I have write-ups on already.

Only two of these are really charity ideas, but I decided to write them
up anyways. Figured you might find them interesting/entertaining.
Charity Ideas for Steve Ivy Overview – 6 thru 10
# List # Name Description
6 P181
Reproduction of Ross Perot’s
Famous Television Pitch with Update
Not a charity idea, but thought you’d like it. Easy to do (e.g.
cheap). Have an actor recreate Ross Perot’s famous Deficit
Television Show but update all of the charts to our current
state. I re-watched it earlier this year (1992), it was telling.
7 P187 Celebrity Auctions (on my other list)
Never got to explain this one, was on other list. Idea isn’t
really like the ‘Buffet Lunch’. TONS of local start-ups and
deal-makers really believe that if they just got an hour with
Cuban, Boone or others that they could wow them. My idea
is to auction off 1 hour meetings for charity for their time.
8 P199 ‘Rolling’ Temporary Service
Back to homeless people not being able to get jobs. The
idea is to start a Temp Agency which would utilize a small
bus (like Rental Car one) and pick-up homeless people (who
are registered and have passed tests) at the Bridge, take
them to worksites and back. Prioritize the best workers.
9 P201 Special Needs Fashion Show
This is a silly idea, but a friend of mine from high school who
was a Homecoming Princess has a special needs daughter
in high school. She is beautiful, but wheel-chair bound. I
think a fashion show or model shoot would raise money, but
also change people’s perceptions. Am torn this is vapid.
10 P208 Healthcare for Illegals
Just thought of this last month. An issue I have is giving the
Cadillac of healthcare to people who really should not be
here, or having them neglect their own health needs. Idea
would be to create a ‘safe’ zone clinic that could not work for
Ameicans, but staffed by Mexican approved health workers
who happen be here in the states. Illegal docs for our illegals.
