The document discusses improvements made to a film product from a preliminary to final version. Key problems with the preliminary included poorly cut clips, lack of sound, improper setting for the script, and weak characters. For the final version, the author introduced title sequences, added actor and director credits, used bold text for clarity, and separated titles from clips to avoid distraction. Learning new camera techniques and editing skills also helped strengthen the final product.

Question 7 learning process
1.
2. 0Looking back at my Preliminary product, I feel
that my final media product for my film shows
a significant improvement. I have learnt how
to make my products look much better and
also how to appeal to my target audience. I am
overall pleased with the outcome of my final
product and I think it represents the thriller
genre of film well and therefore appeals to my
target audience.
3. 0 The problems with my preliminary film were the
following:
0 The clips were cut really badly and you can tell when
the actors were speaking, there was a slight pause.
0 There was hardly any sound at all, apart from the
actors speaking and a door opening and closing, that
was it in terms of sound.
0 The setting wasn’t right with the script. The film was
set in a media office.
0 The script wasn’t well written and the characters had
hardly any emphasis.
4. 0 The ways in which I have improved my front cover for my
music magazine are:
0 I introduced a title with its own mini sequence. It stands
out and gives off a professional feel to it. I also added in the
actors names and directors etc. into the film to give it that
extra bit of depth into the films makers.
0 The text is put in its own shot which its own sequence and
special effects. The letters are bold and easy to see.
0 This lets the audience see who was involved in the film
with complete attention, then when the filmed clips come
on you have your attention on that. I believe that putting
the titles overlapping the shots distracts the audience, so
by putting both on a separate shot then the audience can
see both clearly.
5. 0My first task was to learn and study the
different camera angles and editing skills to
help me through the rest of the course. I have
learnt, for example, the Shot Reverse Shot; to
name only one. This is a technique in which
one character is looking at another character,
then the other character is shown looking at
the original character. Because the characters
are shown looking in each others directions, it
looks like they are looking at each other.
