1. Treatment
Time – Day
The main protagonist of my video is a humorous looking man that
wears a cartoon mask to cover his identity.The narrative follows this
characterthroughout the video, he travels all over many places
(walking around in his own town)searching for a ‘something’ to
replace his old life… A contextual link of this would be of a storyfrom
the novel ‘On the Road’ by Jack Kerouac. To look for that ‘something’
the character starts traveling whilst playing his guitar. The camera
tracks or focuses mainly on the character walking on the pathway.
The mansees a house and enters cautiously inside. A close up shot of
the protagonist opening the entrance door occurs followed by a POV
shot of the character looking right and left.Inside the house entrance
is the kitchen; the man looks through the draws hoping that he
would find what he was looking for. Another POV shot is used but
not of the main character, instead this shot is used to represent the
owner of the house. Following this shot is a medium shot of the
character slowly looking towards his back. He sees the owner and
immediately he gets kicked out of the house. Failing to search for
what he wanted the character walks out of the area whilst playing
his guitar. Again with the tracking shots we see him walking towards
another location, he sees another house which we could see because
of a POV shot. He enters (again with the close up of the door)…. A
close up of a Christmas tree slowly panning towards the left we see
the character searching under a sofa, but the same result occurs as
the first attempt. We see a POV of the house owner coming down
the stairs. The owner holds a weapon in his right hand which is
shown by a medium close up shot.Within the same frame is the main
protagonist looking directly at the owner. The protagonist runs out
of the house escaping from danger. Not being able to look in this

2. house, he searches for another. Finally he sees another house… But
this time we don’t experience what the character is seeing inside the
house, instead he gets kicked out immediately. Looking sad and
helpless he walks away but in front of him on the floor, he sees
‘something’… The object lying on the floor appears to be what the
character was searching for all along. The screen fades out to a black
screen leaving us nothing to see of what the character does with the
object. One final clip occurs, it fades in and we see a close up of a
guitar as well a mask, both items belonged to the main protagonist
and on the blurry part of the clip is the character walking off…The
screen fades back to black.
