The Video starts with a mysterious/humorous looking character that is wearing a cartoon mask and
holding a guitar. The character walks whilst playing the guitar throughout the video looking for a
‘something’. At the end the man walks of leaving his guitar and mask/identity becoming a different
person…
My music video will be mainly narrative and it will contain elements of a performance video. I
thought that if I chose more than one of the music video genres, it will at least manage to reach the
target audience.Also in my questionnaire result many people chose narrative over the other two
genres which is another reason why I chose this…
The song I will be using is ‘Sal Paradise’ by The Crookes which is a slow, cheerful and almost relaxing
sounding piece. My main protagonist will be wearing a mask of a cartoon character which would
maybe be a unique selling point as people might be interested in seeing something really different.
Another reason of the mask is because of my song choice, the lyrics are negative but the actual song
sounds sort of cheerful. If I have chosen a completely depressing looking character it will kill the
mood of my music video.
The idea of the video is to create independence from other music videos that already exist. Reason
being is because the genre of music is indie which will only appeal to a certain audience; I will have
to create a video that will be different and appeals to them. The mask in the video may also attract
young children because they might happen to like that cartoon character.
The location I will be shooting in will be in Sturminster Newton which is a local area. Shots will be
both exterior andinterior;it will be shot during daylight. The weather these days will be grey and cold
which will suit my video as it will help portray negativity.
