3. Story
Our main concept for the horror trailer centres around the
vulnerable male protagonist being increasingly disturbed
and targeted by a supernatural (other-worldly) presence.
The trailer begins with the character waking up during the
middle of the night by a camera flashing. He then
proceeds to go downstairs to get a drink, whilst returning
upstairs he is distracted by the sound of a letter falling
through the door ominously.
The character then, cautiously approaches the letter, and
discovers a usb inside the package, accompanied by a
“sinister note”
4. Story..
The protagonist is intrigued by the sinister note, places the
letter beside, and goes to examine the usb.
The usb contains a video, featuring the protagonist’s
death at which point, the character lunges back in fear
and the pace of the editing begins to increase.
The Protagonist begins to reach out for help, calling the
police, researching online and asking friends. In return the
police ignore the report of his own death. There are
several shots of him looking into the mirror and seeing his
battered and bruised self (as seen in the usb clip)
5. Story…
Text titles will be placed in between some shots as the
character becomes increasingly desperate. He would
adventure to various locations seeking help and advice in
which it will alternate with scary shots.
It will end with the character being on the verge of
insanity, staying up at night guarding the door. In which
many letters have piled up by the door. One is finally
posted in which he opens the door straight away and no
one is there. He will then turn around and be claimed by
the supernatural being.
6. Potential Actors
We are currently deciding who could
possibly fulfil some of the roles
throughout the trailer.
We are intending to hold auditions for
the most important roles, when we
have finalised storyboarding and
scripts.
We plan to work with the constraints of
finding appropriate actors within the
story.
7. Potential Locations
St. Pauls Church, surrounding
graveyard and grounds.
Can be utilised effectively within the
story for its remote location, eerie
exterior and beautiful interior.
Can tie in with several planned
elements of the story.
Greenhithe/surrounding areas
We scouted out this area earlier in
the year as a potential filming
location.
It offers a multitude of urban
housing environments, grungy
shots of the river and elegant
8. Potential Locations
Potential interiors of
houses, offers some of the
main shots of the opening of
the trailer.
Shot of the door will be
framed in as sinister way.
Mirror will be utilised in
one particular shot, in
which the protagonist
witnesses a supernatural
disturbance.
