1. Props, Costume
Locations and
Equipment
The Aim of my video project is to get the audience questioning
and thinking more deeply about what they can see, this will be
accomplished by using the correct conventions.
2. Props:
• I will be using a number of props to help create my video
based on the three styles, narrative, performance and
concept. The performance component of my project will
consist of a band and will therefore have to include a number
of props: Guitars (Base and electric), Keyboards, drums and
microphones.
• The Narrative component will use a carpet, the key item
where the lead singer will be introduced, reflecting the lyrics
of ‘lying on a carpet’.
3. Costume
• The costume will reflect the lyrics and song title (Dead Man-
Carry Me). Therefore the members of the band will all be
wearing unified costumes consisting of Red shirts, white
ties, black trousers and casual shoes. The lead singer however
will be wearing black shirt, white tie, black trousers and black
shoes. This reflects the song of someone who has died
metaphorically, however the white ties represents the hope
and life within the characters. This also helps identify the lead
character. Each member will also wearing a white mask hiding
their faces however the lead singer will not. This will cause the
audience to think more deeply about the characters-why are
they hiding behind the mask?
4. Locations/Setting;
• There are three key settings that I will be using for my project;
wooded area, where the main character is established
incorporating stop motion effects , a stage where the
performance component takes place and a swimming pool.
Again this will cause the audience to question why?
5. Equipment:
• I will be using an editing software known as Vegas Movie
Studio HD Platinum 11.0 to put together and edit my project.
The camera I will be using is the Sony HDR-XR160E for high
quality footage. To ensure steady filming I will also be using a
tripod for most filming and shots. The last piece of equipment
will be an underwater camera cover to ensure the camera
stays dry during the swimming pool scene.
