WHAT IS FEELING?
experience of an emotional state: "she had terrible feelings of guilt"
impression: a vague idea in which some measure of confidence is
placed; "I had a feeling that she was lying"; "what are your feelings
about the crisis?"
spirit: the general atmosphere of a place or situation and the effect
that it has on people; "the feel of the city excited him"; "a clergyman
improved the tone of the meeting";
physical sensation that you experience; "he had a queasy feeling"; "I
had a strange feeling in my leg
touch: the sensation produced by pressure receptors in the skin; "the
surface feels greasy"
intuitive understanding of something; "he had a great feeling for music"

VISUAL EXPRESSION OF A WORD
1. Create list of words that have no obvious visual reference, such as
names for emotions (fear, anxiety, hope, tension).
2. Choose a word. Use points and lines to construct the word in an
emphatic, expressive way. Use physical, digital, or gestural processes. If
your process involves three-dimensional construction, photograph it to
produce a two-dimensional image.

SENSE AND ESSENCE
Dictionary.com: 1. The basic, real, and invariable nature of a thing or its
significant individual feature or features.
Ontologically (theory of being or existence): Plato and Aristotle
related essence to form or the core of form in the physical world that
an object acquired in relation to other forms.
Metaphysically (outside of the physical): It has come to mean
something like ‘soul’; a non-physical non-reducible nature. What
makes us different, who we are, what we're about, the core of our
'selves'.

1. Create three one sentence stories from your life based on
three emotions: disgust, desire, hunger
2. Choose one story to express visually.
3. Express the essence of this story using only squares, circles
and triangles and the colors blue, red and yellow.

postures without using contour lines.
