In Spanish «hispano» means «relating to Spain».
Today the name Hispanics is commonly used in
the United States for people
with origins in Spanish–speaking countries.
3. Hispanic population in the USA
•Hispanics comprise 15.08% of the US
population, or about 45 million people in 2007
•If this growth rate continues, Hispanics in the
United States will number anywhere from
80 million to over 100 million by 2050.
