A “Patent” is an intellectual property right granted by
the Government to an inventor “to exclude others from
making, using, offering for sale, or selling the invention
in the nation or importing the invention into the nation”
for a limited time in exchange for public disclosure of
the invention when the patent is granted.
“Search” means to find out all relevant information
related to invention and which is already existed before
the date of invention.
“Patent search” is the process by which prior patented
inventions are examined, with the goal being to find
information that bears close similarity to a given patent
or proposed invention.
