1. Mind Map Ideas
Location, Lighting and Luck
Portrait Ideas
A rat’s-eye view– getting low down on the ground
and taking a shot of something from a different viewpoint,
not many people are used to seeing the world from a “rats-
eye view” – focus on an object before setting the camera
down, low lighting is best.
Portrait Light painting–
this would be cool in a
club/venue, after giving e.g. glow
sticks out theydance withthem
and I capture that with slow
shutter speed.
Portrait action shots – such as a child
screaming, a girl havinga panic attack (not
literally) a ballet dancer doingturns andjumps.
HDR – this will be a good
feature to capture dirt on a
boy/girls face after an
activityor even
imperfections like wrinkles
or spots.
Lighting,confidence,adapt,
give direction,composition
Long exposure – taking
long exposure shots ofsay
candles around a person, fairy
lights on a person, at a
hospital. Idea:a personat a
hospital dying andcapturing
their movements after the
death, saytheir spirit floating
off, not that thiswouldhappen
but it’d be prettycool.
Macro –
this will
also be
good for
capturing
detailson
the face
such as
freckles
etc.
Children– capturingtheir fast
movements and excitement while
they’re doingan activity e.g.
bouncy castle,climbingframe,
interactingwith a magician.
Backgrounds – white
backdrop, black backdrop, a
background ofa sunset, of
stars, of the sky, of people.
Shallowdepth of field – this
technique will be exceptionallygood
for portraits that I want to focus on
just the face.
