4. Staff MemberYearbook Jamie Tucker Yearbook is a great class to take because if you are good at teamwork and responsibility then you will be just fine. Those two things are the thing you need to in yearbook and even life really. You become very close with all of the people in yearbook. It does not matter that much if you area boy or girl, but we have all girls right now. If you are good at these two things then you would be great for yearbook. Take Yearbook!!

9. Staff MemberYearbook Yearbook is really about team work. We need a lot of it and it’s a blast. You get to create the yearbook, I find that more neat to design the yearbook rather then be in it. But you still end up being in the yearbook also. You become very close with all of the yearbook members. It does not matter whether your boy or girl it is so much fun in this classroom but you still take it seriously and still have a good time. Don’t forget about the parties, when we meet deadlines that are rough, we throw a little free day and those are always very interesting as well. Cant wait until we find out some new staff members. In yearbook you get to design pages and put fun pictures on the page that you and your other classmates would agree that students would like to see years from now. On the staff you get to take pictures, layout pages and more often than not, you get to write stories about topics you really care about. You should definitely sign up for J1 because its one of the most beneficial classes you will ever take.

It gives you an outlet to reach out to the entire school and community and gives you a chance to get to know your peers. Even if you don’t like to write, there are so many other things one could do with photography and layout of pages. If you are looking for a great school activity, this is the one for you. 18. Editor-in-ChiefThe Bear Haley Hopkins If I had any advice to give upcoming freshmen, it would be this: JOIN JOURNALISM. I wish someone would have advised me to take it as a freshman so I could have wrote for the paper all four years. It is a great way to get involved with the community and other students and there is no greater feeling than seeing your stories printed in a paper for all to see. I guarantee you will have a fun time! I hope you join so you can become part of The Bear!

Taking pictures, copy editing, designing pages , designing graphics and selling ads are also all a huge part of our production. A&E Co-editorThe Bear Kiah Hall I think you should take Journalism 1 because it is fun and you get to get involved with different things that you normally wouldn’t get involved in with other classes. It gives you a chance to interact with other students and be more social. Its fun, you get to take pictures, lay out pages, and write stories. So you should take this class because it is fun and you get to do different things.

24. Student Life EditorThe Bear Cassie Lacina You should enroll in Journalism I next year because it is a fun way to expand your comfort zone and meet new people. Journalism offers opportunities to get involved in activities you would not be involved in. It is pretty much a student-run class and it is more like a part time job than an actual class. Taking photos and getting interviews lets you meet people you didn’t know before and also teaches you a lot about your subjects. I highly recommend Journalism I next year as a way to reach out farther into the school and meet new and exciting people.

28. Sports EditorThe Bear Travis Kaufman Going into high school I never thought I would have been in a journalism class or on The Bear or yearbook staff. I decided to take Journalism 1 in the first semester of my junior year. It was the best decision I ever made. I was on the yearbook staff the following semester as a writer and I got the opportunity to write about and take pictures of some awesome things. Senior year I switched to The Bear to get the opportunity to write and manage a page about something that I love. There is a lot of time and hard work that goes into a paper, but the final product is always worth the work. Plus its also cool to see the things that you write go into a newspaper. My advice to you: TAKE JOURNALISM AND JOIN THE BEAR STFF!
