This document proposes using gamification to increase participation in food drives. It suggests creating a virtual platform to give feedback on donations and encourage competition and cooperation. Ideas include assigning points and badges for donations, making teams to neighborhood donations, showing progress towards area and city-wide goals, allowing players to support larger areas as they donate more, sending reminder texts, letting recipients thank donors, and having long-term missions to reduce city-wide food waste over time. The goal is to motivate more people to donate surplus food through social and achievement elements in a virtual environment.
3. Food Drive –background info-
•It’s a charity event dedicated to collecting food for the poor (Wiktionary)
•It’s one of the Food Bank’s activities. (Food Banks collect surplus food that is still safe for consumption and redistribute them to those in need. eg. Second Harvest)
•It’s popular in US, but quite new and not so popular in Japan yet. Some local authorities are trying to do it in their cities.
5. Target tasks

10. Idea 3: Level up to support larger area.

•Show player’s supporting area as a map
