1. Task 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media
products? (i.e. of real film openings)
2.
3. Production Company
This is our first frame we use on
our opening sequence. We made
this title using Livetype as we found
it easy to use and easy to convert
the titles on to Final cut and add
them into our opening sequence.
We made all our titles on livetype
and made all of them the same
colour- with a black background
and white font. This makes the font
stand out to the audience as of the
colour contrast.
4. Opening representing the genre
In this frame there is scrolling
text at the bottom of the screen
which tells you the basic
storyline. This represents the
genre of our opening sequence
immediately as we know its
going to be based on mystery.
We wanted to make our news
report scene look realistic. We
tried achieving this by
researching other news
channels. We found BBC News
We also wanted the news reporter had a planet spinning in the
announcing the news sitting behind a desk background, this inspired us to
as this is shown on a lot of news channels do something similar to enhance
and was a good way to make our new the idea this news report channel
report channel more realistic and is known world wide and is a
professional. professional company.
5. Title
This frame shows of the title of our film.
We chose the title ‘Thr33’ as it represents
the number of teenagers who get taken,
this title was inspired by the film title
‘Se7en’ we liked how the title had the
number 7 to replace the letter ‘v’ as we
thought it was a unique idea. Which
inspired us to name our film Thr33. We
made our title using livetype.
6. Setting and Costume
We wanted the costume for the
teenager to be kept basic and
casual and something that is
commonly worn by teenagers-
jeans, top and a black blazer.
The costume for the kidnapper
had to be something which could
disguise the persons face. We
found a lot of ‘bad guys’ in films
wear black as it’s the colour of
mystery and doe not attract
much attention. So we chose the
The frame shows the teenager sitting kidnapper to wear a over sized
on a bench, in a field or a park- in open black hoodie so it would hide
surroundings. We see this as there are their figure and their face .
plants and grass surrounding her.
7. Special Effects And Prop
We used a lot of contrasting and a
variety of special effects for this
shot as we found it was hard to
see the cigarette as it blended in
with the bench to much. So to
make the cigarette look more clear
we had to enhance and contrast
and add lots of effects to make it
look this effective. We used the
cigarette as a prop as it was
something the teenager was using
before she was taken. It is meant
to interpret the idea to the
audience that the character
dropped it when she got taken. We
have zoomed in on the prop to
show what the character left
behind.
8. Introducing Characters
These are 2 frames which we put together. After every
teenager that gets taken/ shown on screen will have their
name shown in the next shot after to show the name of the
person who is playing a certain character.
9. Camera Work
This frame shows of our good camera
work and special effects. This is a
close up shot of the teenagers mobile
which she dropped when she got
taken. We used special effects to
enhance what was shown on the
screen and make it more clear to the
audience that her mum is calling her.
10. Location
This frame shows one of the
teenagers walking through the
woods. We can see this as
there are lots of trees
surrounding her and leaves
which have fallen of the trees
are covering the floor. This also
shows to the audience that it is
Autumn season.
