2. Where Did They Live
• The Shawnee Tribe lived in South Georgia.

3. Homes
• The Shawnee Tribe lived in small round
dwellings called wikkums, or wigwams. It’s
made out of bark or skins.

4. Clothing
• Shawnee men wore breechcloth made from
deerskin.
• Shawnee women wore deerskin wraparounds
and moccasins.

5. Food
• Shawnee people ate
turkeys, fish, corn, squash, and deer.
• The Shawnee got their food by farming and
hunting.

6. Jobs
• The Shawnee older boys hunted for food. The
Shawnee older girls helped with the little
ones.
• The Shawnee women had to farm, child
care, and cooking.
• The Shawnee men were hunters, went to war
to protect their families.

7. Games
• Shawnee children played miniature bows and
arrows, and hand held games.

8. Worshipped
The Shawnee people believed in someone
named our grand mother. She was one of the
spirits.

9. Important Animals
• The most important animals to the Shawnee
Tribe were panthers, raccoons, rabbits, and
wolves.

10. Interesting Facts
• After eating the meal of the animals, they
used the antlers and bones to make fish hooks
and garden tools.
• Shawnee means shawanwa.
• Headbands were made out of hawk feathers.
• They used buttons for rings.
