    • Measure, Report and Verify (MRV) emission reductions
    • Bottom-up initiatives are currently mush-rooming
    • - Developing country initiatives (e.g. CPH accords; CIF schemes)
    • - World Bank - carbon market readiness
    • - EU, IEA, UK, USAID - sectoral, MRV scoping study and market mechanisms
    • - Several others incl. states, cities and NORDIC COUNTRIES
    Building blocks in a post-CPH carbon market world
  • 2. Building blocks in a post-CPH carbon market world - example
    • Nordic Pilot Support Programme : ”Up-scaled support mechanism for climate change mitigation”
    • 1 st step feasibility study on:
    • Data availability incl. proxydata, prognosis methodologies, organsiation and collection of data incl. inst.capacity
    • Matching abatement opportunities with support incl. direct financial, technical and crediting
    • Matching Nordic support with overall domestic policy framework (existing and planned policies) including all relevant policies that affects GHG emissions
    • Will be launched in early 2011 pending on finding a suitable host country
