Activating and Transferring
SolidWorks (Standalone license):
If you have recently purchased SolidWorks and are attempting to activate it
is best to confirm with a Solidtec Applications Engineer whether the license
is yet provisioned in the system. Please email support@solidtec.com.au with
your serial number and also your company name asking to check if the
license is provisioned and ready for activation.
If you have been notified that you are able to activate your SolidWorks and
have recently installed the program please follow the below information.
After installation it is best to perform a restart of your machine, once this has
been completed simply double click the SolidWorks icon on your desktop or
navigate to the start menu and in Windows 7 you have a search box type
SolidWorks, here you should be able to double click the icon to run the
application.
The first window you should see is the SolidWorks splash screen, this
indicates that SolidWorks is starting on the machine and is loading the
required settings. If the product has not been activated it should come up
with a window like the one on the next page.

and you have the go ahead to activate than please select the first radio
button then click Next>.
In the next window simply type in a valid email address this will help to
maintain a correct record of who has activated what and where.

If you have a decent internet connection than it is best to
attempt the Automatically over the internet method of activation and
transfer. Select the require product/s and the first radio button then also
make sure you have added a valid email address then click Next>.
You should then be able to see the activation window connecting to the
SolidWorks server; you should then see a window like the one below. This
confirms that the product/s are activated - you can click finish.
In this case once we select finish SolidWorks will open.
If we require the need to transfer off the license we can do this very simply
from within SolidWorks by going to Help>Transfer licenses …
This will bring up the Activate/Transfer Your SolidWorks Product
window same as previously seen above, simply fill out your email address if
not present and select preferred method of transfer/activate i.e.
automatically or manual.
This will release the license and allows you to activate onto another machine.
Please note that standalone licenses only allow for one machine to be
activated at a time.

If you have attempted to perform an automatic
activation/transfer of the license but are still not able to obtain a license and
are not receiving an error message stating Activation Count Exceeded or
Transfer Count Exceeded or another error code (if unsure contact
support@solidtec.com.au) it might be best to attempt a manual
activation/transfer. In some cases where the internet connection is slow or
there are firewalls / proxy’s in place a manual activation/transfer might be
the easiest way.
To perform a manual activation/transfer simply perform that same steps
above if you wish to activate or transfer, at the window where you can select
your products to activate/transfer choose the second radio button to
perform a manual activation via e-mail.
Once you click next the activation tool (swactwiz.exe) will bring up another
window like the one below. (Keep this window open during the whole
process).
Once this window above appears you want to save out the request file to a
location i.e. Desktop. (Be sure to keep this window open during the process)
once the file is saved you can copy this to a machine with email or use the
machine that you are currently working on.

activation/transfer process.
You can review and source a solution by searching the SolidWorks
