• The effective sharing of information has long
been identified as a key underpinning of the
drive towards the provision of integrated, multi-
agency services, particularly in relation to the
care and protection of citizens;
• eCare has been developed in response to this
requirement.

4. The Strategic Choice
• eCare Programme has a key important role to
play in increasing the level of care
and protection for all Scottish citizens:
– Child Protection Messaging;
– Support of Getting Right for Every Child;
– Vulnerable Persons System – Police;
– Expansion to eSSA to cover the full assessment and
care management process;
– Discussions around Adult Support and Protection.
