90% OF CHILDREN IN INDIA DON’T GO FOR COLLEGE
DEGREE.” HOW FAR HAVE WE PROGRESSED IN
TERMS OF EDUCATION AND WHAT CAN BE DONE TO
IMPROVE THE SCENARIO?
“

Education is the manifestation of perfection in Man” – Swami
Vivekananda
“

Ensuring quality higher education is one of the most important things we
can do for our future generations. After independence the government of
India, has been continuously making efforts to improve the education
system in India but even after passing all the laws and schemes we don’t
get that much of progress in our education system. Higher education is
one of the ways of achieving one’s own goals in life.
In India, education is like a lucky draw that only limited children are able
to get it. As children living in cities and towns are only able to get quality
of education. According to National Sample Survey Organization,
resources allocated to the education sector in the 10th five year (200207) plan were increased by 76% to Rs 43,825 crore from Rs 24,098 crore
in the 9th plan.
In 2000, the gross enrolment ratio in higher education, which measures
the number of individuals going to college as percentage of college-age
population, was 8% in China and 10% in India. By 2008, the ratio had shot
up to 23% in China but crept up to only 13% in India. In india only
talented students get chance to get admission in public sector
universities, because to get into government institute students need to
qualify entrance exams like







Joint Entrance Examination Mains
All India Institute of Medical Sciences
All India Pre Medical Test
Common Admission Test
Common Entrance Test
Joint Entrance Examination Advanced

At the same time, there are about 1, 00,000 Indian students taking higher
education in US. Why do I am
talking about this?
This is because in India the education system is divided into two parts
1.Poor and 2.Rich
As while having a lot of government institute there are also several
private institute which offer UG, PG
and other higher education degrees.
From the above discussion we can easily conclude that
 For children who belongs rich family, doesn’t matter whether they
are talented or not will easily get into private colleges and get
degrees.
 For children who are talented and are aware of higher education in
public sector, doesn’t matter whether they are rich or poor will
crack entrance exams and easily get admission. Why for talented
children I use public sector universities?
 Because talented students can either be poor or rich. If he is rich he
can easily explore himself but what? If he is poor.
 Then only public sector institutes like iits, nits, iiser, isat, etc. are the
options for him, thanks to government of India for providing a large
amount of fund to these institutes which helps the students
studying here to explore himself and is facilitated enough to show
his talent. But what about the children who are poor and talented
but not aware about the public sector institutes, they don’t get the
chance to get into colleges.
And what about those who are not able to get secondary education?
And who are not taught well even in primary classes?
And who are not even approachable to anganwadies center?
And what is the use of providing sc, st, and physically handicapped
reservation in entrance exams if these children are not aware of these
exams?
Do they don’t have mind or their i.q level is that much poor that they
can’t compete?
Here in this article we will get to know why our Indian education is lacking
behind in spite of so many
funding and continuous efforts made by state and union government.
Reasons and their solutions are here: No public institute entrance exam advertisements are there.
 Education is a very sacred thing, but entrepreneurs make it a
business to earn money and hire
low educated teachers, people who don’t know anything himself how can
he teach others.
In public sector education is of excellent level in colleges but to get that
knowledge one must
have a good knowledge of secondary level. And for this the root is
primary teaching which
affects the study as well as future of our country and children.
exam for primary and secondary
teachers,
government thinks that they have hired a very good quality of teacher
and that is true but as
per my own experience these high quality teachers go their center only at
the day of checking
otherwise they hire local people in worth Rs.6000 approx. and these
people who don’t even
qualify to teach himself, how can he teach little children. To cop up with
this problem
government should arrange board exams of every class and give salary to
primary teachers
according to the progress report of their students.
 Should arrange mid-day meal program in primary schools like in
Kerala.
 Early Marriage and parental pressure for earning are also the reason.
 There must be government colleges which can take less talented
student can also be admitted and except academics there must be
institute of music, dance, arts etc.
A large part of government funding for education must be in the form of
liberal scholarships. Securitized student loans with government banking
would bring down the cost of education loans and these must be liberally
available.
According to the QS World University Rankings, two Indian institutes also
come under top 200 universities, and this number can also be increased
with a cooperative work of students, governments and professors.
At last by keeping all the data in a nut cell we can conclude that there are
very minute things or initiatives like awareness program, continuous
checking etc that we need to take to bring a change in the education
system of India.
