  1. 1. nd2 Grade News Mrs. Ealy’s Class December 7, 2012 Letter from Mrs. Ealy Next Week’s SpecialsDear Parents, Our holiday party will be held Thursday, December 20th in Monday – P.E. (Wear Sneakers)the afternoon. Many of you signed up to volunteer to send Tuesday – Art and Computerssomething in and I will be sending home a reminder note next Wednesday – Music and P.E. Friday – Wellness The students had a great time this week separating theirmixtures that they brought from home. Each student was able to What We’re Learning About!show the class their mixture and ask for predictions on what Math – This week in math we continued to work on double digit addition.method would work best to separate their mixture. December 17th when they are due. • Please help your child return their Book N’ Bag every Social Studies – This week in social studies we started our unit called Friday! “Where is my Community?” We explored different types of maps. We Upcoming Events and Dates to Remember discussed the types of things you can find on a map. Students did a wonderful job using the key to determine what the different symbols represented. We will continue to work on this by making a classroom map and eventually a map of the White Lake community!Dec. 12 Mobile DentistDec. 17 Market Day Pick-Up Health - Today we started our short health unit on caffeine, tobacco, and alcohol safety.
